This is the third composition for my Lydian Chromatic Concepts class. I used a similar theme to my first piece but set it in a different time signature and explored other chordscales/scalechords to play with.

On the eleventy first and final episode of Talking to Women about Videogames (main show! the feed lives on!) Jonathan and Tanya lament the state of the videogames world while looking forward to new horizons. Jonathan interviews Zoey Handley of Maximum Utmost, a once and future collaborator where they talk about "kusoge" or "crap games" and lament about how the enthusiast press mistreated them both. But they're back, in Maximum Utmost form!

And the announcement that we've been holding onto for a little while is that TTWAV and Maximum Utmost will be merging into a beautiful fusion of writing and talking about videogames. The "Maximum Utcast" will be taking over the slot of Talking to Women about Videogames after the fusion dance is completed, so look forward to that on this same feed. Hi, I am musician - electric guitar and computer. Most of the time I am working with ableton live, building soundcollages, make songs or go into the world of rhythm. I like the instruments of cinematique instruments and i screw a lot of with virtual Instruments, before I let them out. I work a lot at theatres, making soundtracks for theatrepieces and that makes me happy, because here I meet several artists from different subjects and ages. 
And i teach and compose music for radioplays.

Black is a weird, heavy, messy record. And that’s kind of the point.

I didn’t want it to sound polished or “correct.” I wanted it to sound true. The whole thing was built from scraps—real radio broadcasts, weird animation dialogues, cartoon effects, layers of ambient sounds, and a bunch of instrumental recordings that I just sat down and played, usually once, and then kept whatever came out. A lot of it is improvised. I don’t usually go back and edit or re-record. 
If it feels honest in the moment, it stays.

I wanted to make something that sounded like the inside of the mind when you're half-asleep, overthinking, or reliving something you don’t fully understand. That’s what Black is. It’s not made to entertain. It’s not here to impress you. It’s here to reflect that weird space between memory and dream—where things feel distorted but still deeply real. Which creates the co

In general, the music I make leans toward the unorthodox and experimental. I mess with atonality, weird rhythms, broken structures—sometimes on purpose, sometimes because that’s just how it comes out. I’ve never been interested in “perfect” music. I care more about tension, confusion, things that feel a little off. That kind of discomfort is where a lot of meaning lives.

My ideas usually come from very visual places. I’ll have this scene in my head—a mood, a weird flash, a voice—and that becomes the seed. It might be triggered by a painting, a lyric, a random sound, or just something I’m feeling that I am not keen to explain in words. 
So I try to explain it in sound instead.

I believe that any 'tension' is beneficial to art and am driven by themes that are often perceived as depressive, detached, abstract, and tense - qualities that I embrace; and draw inspiration from to create..
I don’t think it’s negative. I think it’s beautiful...

If you’re listening to Black, just know: most of what you hear was made in one take, in whatever state I was in that day. It's layered, yes—but it’s also very raw. This album isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s a document of moments I didn’t want to polish away.
