This song was written about a homeless woman called Leanne. I met her one very wet and cold day when she was being hassled by a drunk. He didn't speak English so I wasn't sure of what he was saying but his body language suggested he was trying to solicit her sexually. She was very upset about this and once I'd told the man to leave her alone I bought her a coffee and had a chat with her. I couldn't imagine the life she had to lead and as if the dreadful autumnal weather wasn't bad enough, she was being abused by idiots who only saw her as a commodity. I went home and I wrote this song for her. I never saw her again but I pray that wherever she is she is in a better place in her life. I wish I could play this song for her to show her that she is worthy of love and care and appreciation. How lucky we are to have food and shelter and security. I'm sure she wishes these things for herself and I never forget the fact that none of us is ever more than a couple of steps away from finding ourselves in Leanne's situat
