Feeling hardstuck this week as nearly all my sessions yielded nothing, but I did manage to cobble together this idea revolving around an old obscure psychedelic folk sample.  Maybe it becomes something more in the future?

Idea for Song 250205 (Introversion)

This show is called "Phantasmagoria", and "P12a" is a shorter name for it.
P12a is a modern rock opera, retelling Dante's Divine Comedy in three acts.

This is the first of three LPs. Each one contains one act of the rock opera.
Act 1, Autocremation, introduces us to "The Dreamer", a vice-ridden sinner.
Follow along as our sleeping protagonist must now confront terrible demons.

Phantasmagoria is a real word that means, "a sequence of dream-like events".
This is a one-of-a-kind psychedelic trip through hell, purgatory and heaven. 
It's quite unlike anything you have ever seen or heard of, in all your life past.

I made this all with a great deal of consideration, effort and love, mainly alone.
The journey to this Magnum Opus began in early 2016, and I've kept at it since.
I've constantly ideated, iterated and polished it all for nearly a decade. Enjoy. <3

Since meeting two years ago at Honcho, VICENTA has amassed an impressive record collection and crafted a unique sound for “the real speaker freakers.” 

VICENTA’s sets take the listener on an introspective journey that weaves rumbling bass and percussion with shimmery textures to build an immersive atmosphere of tension, before breaks and drops satisfyingly pierce through the sound. After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F & Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

In early 2011, he started the project Truncate to focus on the deeper, raw side of techno. His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is still no slowing down for David. He continues to shape an evolving sound and to champion the Los Angeles underground.
