From 1985 to 1995, Cowboy Cadence—Bruce Jahn, Kathy Trevelyan, Ben Fortescue, and Sarah Fortescue—operated as a fiercely independent musical ensemble. Committed to authentic self-expression, the group managed every aspect of their creative process in-house, from songwriting and performing all instruments and vocals to recording and mixing in our home setups, all without external producers, writers, or engineers. This autonomous approach allowed our unique vision to come through in our diverse repertoire of Country, Children’s, and Comedic music. While primarily focused on recording, Cowboy Cadence also shared our distinctively homespun sound through live performances at local fairs and community venues.

I've been writing songs since I was 15, in the studio creating demos at 16 and have had a few shining musical moments along the way.


I've lived all over the country... from Cali back to Virginia where I grew up. Over the years, I've been lucky to have met some fabulous people that I consider kindred spirits and friends.
