Yulia Niko delivers uplifting House remix of Helsloot’s ‘Let’s Pretend’.

Get Physical Music revisits one of its most enduring anthems as Yulia Niko delivers a brand-new remix of Helsloot’s ‘Let’s Pretend’, one of the label’s biggest success stories of the past decade. Originally released in 2022, the track topped the Beatport Indie Dance chart and remained in the Top 100 for over two years. Now, Yulia flips the script with a fresh, house-leaning reinterpretation, marking the second single from her forthcoming Body Language Vol. 26 compilation, due later this summer.

Yulia’s remix brings a totally new flavor to the beloved track. With a bouncy, synth-driven bassline and a classic house piano progression, she gives ‘Let’s Pretend’ a warm, dancefloor-focused energy that stands apart from the original’s deeper indie vibe. The result is a joyful and dynamic version that’s built for sunny sets, open-air floors, and peak-time moments.

Heute gehen wir es mal wieder ruhig und entspannt an und auch etwas verträumt. Dieses Set ist der Nachfolger von meinem "Interstellar Effekt" Set. Ich habe die Übergänge dieses mal bewusst teilweise sehr lang gehalten, um es etwas verträumter wirken zu lassen, weil einige Tracks epische Akzente mit sich bringen. Anders, wie beim Interstellar Set, ist das hier eine einmalige Aufnahme. Die Übergänge sind nicht perfekt, aber so solls auch sein. Denn nichts im Leben ist perfekt und das macht es so besonders und ich möchte meinem diesjährigen Motto ja auch treu bleiben.

Refusing musical education as a child I took my first bass guitar lessons as an adolescent after seeing Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Later I switched to the double bass/ contrabass to play gipsy jazz/ ‘hot club de France’ in several great bands. 

I have vivid memories of my first experiences with electronic music. My search back then -countryside in the last millennium- to find more of this specific vibe was unsuccessful. But I did not give up and found vinyl and DJ controller. 

Working as a medical physics expert in an Audiology clinic I have a deep understanding of air vibrations, the ear and the acoustic pathway to the brain. 

There are several emotions I try to convey in studio albums; downtempo chill, moderate/ high energy, 80s vibe and Ethereal. In live sets I like to focus on more energy and emotion journey of Ethereal.
