Travelin' through The Withered Sea, eh? Don't let the name fool you-- it's dry as a bone.  Halfway through the desert pass, you'll wish it was a sea just so you can have a sip o' water. The local folk round 'ere say it's "Where Summits Walk Freely".  That's to account for all the movin' the desert sand does. The dunes and hills are never quite were you remember them being before. It's why so many travelers rarely ever come back.

Oh, and be warned-- should two riders approach you... don't take the deal they offer ye'.  Ye'd much rather die o' thirst than accept their help.

The Withered Sea

This is a fantasy Irish inspired orchestral piece.
Around a simple harp melody, I layer different Irish instrumentation such as low whistle and uilleann pipes, as well as a full orchestra to create this soundtrack.

I took inspiration from lots of my favourite fantasy media, such as The Lord of the Rings, Dungeons and Dragons, Mistborne among others.

Theme that came out of my imagination, that talks about resilience in the darkest moments of life, about hope, determination and finding a place in this life, because not even “happiness” is relevant, but finding peace, and a place! would work as an opening of “Universal Determination” a story I'm writing where six men are the main characters, dark forces try to assassinate them, because they see them as threats to their plans, the parents perish protecting them and in turn leaving them sealed with runes tattooed on their skin that give them supernatural abilities such as summoning mythological beings in their favor to attack and defend themselves, and are brought together by two couples who will act as patriarchs, mentors, and protectors, to prevent a new Ragnarok, a war at the end of the world that would end everything as we know it, leading to a global extinction that according to these forces “is necessary” to purify all the evil caused by humanity. .. Who is right, where will you be, standing or surrendered?

Joran Elane (singer and co-founder of the fantasy band Elane) published her first solo album “Glenvore” in 2014. She is a sorceress, bard and storyteller of the modern era.
