1st time I met Gina was at DJ school, she brought a group of young people down to learn to DJ and she was eager to try out the turntables herself, we played tunes back to back and I tried to demonstrate how to beat-match, she played Flowers (Sunship remix) in to Gabrielle - Sunshine (Wookie remix), I remember she sang both the songs with a massive smile on her face and expressed so much happiness and joy in that moment. She picked up DJing really quickly, her musicality and rhythm was well impressive.

Some 3 months or so later, we began playing in @pertrelli band together ‘Mauve Skies’. I used to take my MPC to rehearsals for the WOH Trelli show, they’d be plenty times where we would just be listening to music, chilling and chatting, I had made this beat on my MPC very near that time (Summer 2023) and was showing Gina how to use the MPC’s track mute’s to make a live song from the 8 bar running sequence. Needless to say she got well good at it really quickly and grasped how the whole thing worked and how to make it sound good! She played the MPC live at the show and ran the backing track for a tune from it with impeccable timing (us 5 other band members had to keep to her precise rhythm and timing) needless to say she absolutely nailed that too! She had a natural talent with music and her voice was soulful and beautiful. So sad I didn’t get the opportunity to make more music with Gina, playing in Trellis band ‘Mauve Skies’ was a really lovely experience, definately one I’ll cherish forever. Miss her energy greatly.
