🟪 LOCUS Mix Series #050 - Varhat

Raphaël Berzingue, formerly part of the acclaimed duo ALVA, has quickly established himself as a solo artist to watch in the French house music scene. His style, which moves between deep and tech house, has earned attention from prominent figures like Laurent Garnier and Janeret.

His work is also making waves beyond France with releases on Shall Not Fade, Pont Neuf Records, Happiness Therapy, Inner Balance (led by Chez Damier), or his own Virage Records.

In 2022, his debut EP, Quitter Paname, highlighted his exquisite approach to house music. Following this, he continued to expand his sound with releases such as Architectures, Bauhaus or Road Trip, featuring tracks that explore synth-pop, garage, and freestyle-tinged breakbeats. His latest addition to the list is “Cancale” on Happy House Vol.8 compilation by Happiness Therapy.

Berzingue’s talent and dedication position him as a promising presence in today’s electronic music landscape, redefining the contours of French house with each release.

Having spent quite some time in front of the DJ-booth, Jean Emar got intrigued by what was going on behind it. What initially started as a cute little hobby with Traktor on inebriated Friday nights, gradually turned into a passion. As a logical next step, Traktor got replaced by 2 vinyl players. From then on, he incessantly has been practicing to master the art of mixing, being mainly influenced by (ro)minimal house, breakbeat, UKG, ...

BIO :
Born in 1982, Roberto grew up among vinyls in his Uncle's record shop as a child. He is fond of Reggae, Hip Hop and Philly Music, at 15years he is captured by House Music .. by the sounds of the Garage, the French House and Latin House.
For more than 20 years in the world of digging, he has joined DJs of the caliber of DIMITRI FROM PARIS, OLIVER DOLLAR, REBOOT and many other historic international DJs.
Roberto is now Co-Founder of the REDLIGHTS evenings and is always looking for new sounds:
his Dj Sets are the perfect fusion between Classic House and Disco and the New Electronic Influences, among the many reference labels a place special have it Strictly Rhythm, Groovin, Freerange, Rutilance Recordings, Entrepot Records
