This is my festival closing set from APOG 2023. Any Patch Of Grass is a great Seattle festival on the road to burning man. This set has a combination of genres, sounds, styles and vibes arranged together as a representation of my observations & experiences of the process of this group of people from end to end. A dear friend asked me to make a fun mix for his birthday so that he could have a silent disco dance party after the kids went to bed. His only song request was to include a remix of Yello - Oh Yeah (from Ferris Bueller's Day Off). Since I already had two different remixes of that song it was easy to expand from there to include lots of other great ones like Never Gonna Give You Up, Le Freak, Low Rider, White Horse, White Rabbit, Gloria, Good Vibrations, and Funky Town (amongst others). I had so much fun making and listening to this mix afterwards that it had to be shared! Enjoy.

They are also characterised by refined tansitions with analog synth layers towards grooves and basslines.

London based, multi disciplinary artist, Danni Perry has a deep connection with music and movement. 
With an extensive background in dance, they often select tracks based on how it feels within the body, prioritising the ‘movement quality’ a track has when thinking about how it will relay to the dance floor. 

With the an understanding of the body playing such a huge role towards their relationship with music, their goal behind the booth is to be a catalyst for catharsis self expression, encouraging crowds to explore a mixture of different emotions whilst playing. 

With a strong interest in experimentation and the blending of genres, her  sound is constantly evolving as much as she does. 

Over the years the dance floor had provided them with a space for freedom, hedonism, inspiration and creativity to be explored and celebrated. And their goal, as a DJ, is to create an atmosphere that resonates with crowds in the same way it has done and continues to do for them to this day, through incredible music.

Follow @badweatherdisco Instagram. Bad Weather Disco started off over two decades ago in the SF Bay Area rave scene playing major events and serving as the resident of two weekly club nights. After a 15 year hiatus, he returned to his love for heavy bass electronic music, DnB,  breaks and after producing a short EP, he moved into mixing various forms of house music including disco, funk, and vocal house. With a deep love for remixing classic songs, he brings the heat to the dancefloor.

An early intro to electronic music after stumbling across a radio station playing hardcore & rave, helped to propel Movimentum straight into the illegal underground warehouse raves in Sydney in the mid 90s.

The explosion of energy, comradery and creativity from that early era revolutionised his outlook to music, social culture and life-affirming positive attitudes. His love of all things electronic is still as strong as ever today.

From house to techno, nu disco to breakbeat, deep house melodica to progressive house, hardcore to rave, acid house to electro, Movimentum loves to traverse various styles of electronica. A strong history with a deep love for these changing and emerging styles over the decades helps to incorporate a wide range of sounds and beats into his artillery.

Just as happy on the dance-floor as he is behind the decks, the love, passion and kinetic energy is clearly ever-present with Movimentum.

Joakim Frithjof has been quietly making his mark in the underground scene. Starting out with a love for Hip-Hop, turntablism, and early House, his musical journey took a new turn when he moved to Amsterdam in 2005, where clubs like Club11 and Trouw shaped his evolving sound. Over the years, he’s played across Amsterdam, hosted his own parties in Utrecht, and even made appearances in cities like Copenhagen, Berlin, and Stockholm.

His style? Hard to pin down. He loves mixing things up, drawing from House, breakbeat, UK Garage, floathouse, rave, and classics. Always keeping it fresh but never forgetting the roots. He’s more about making people move than fitting into any one box.

Beyond DJ’ing, he applies his wide-ranging taste in music to curating playlists for brands and physical spaces. As Music Director at Kollekt.fm and with his own venture, Sonic Curations, he helps create custom playlists and music identities that not only fit the aesthetic but also enhance the atmosphere, leaving behind a lasting audio impression.

Fun Fact: The first CD he ever bought at age 12 was The Prodigy’s The Fat of the Land, a purchase that marked the beginning of a lifelong obsession with music.
