"Back in January 2024 , I left my 9-5 job, driven by a feeling that something was lacking in my life. I had reflected for over a year that what got me excited lay in music, travel, and film. What if I could blend all these passions together whilst collaborating with and uplifting other artists, creatives and venues from around the globe?

What is Borderless Beats?

Borderless Beats kicks off as a global music journey. Initially, this is a project documenting whether it is possible to DJ all around the world while showcasing great music. Starting out, we'll be filming DJ sets in various countries and as the project evolves, we want to connect people and places, collaborating and showcasing other DJs/creatives and venues along the way 

Our Vision

Beyond the music, the dream would be to grow Borderless Beats into a community based around music and travel. The key influences for Borderless Beats are @flavourtrip @Cercle @Sofarsounds  and @boilerroom alongside a myriad of travel documentaries (from the late great Anthony Bourdain to Scott & Justin at Departures). At it's heart, Borderless Beats has been created to facilitate connection amongst fantastic, creative people in amazing spaces across the globe through a shared love of music. Here, being ‘borderless’ means opening up to everyone. We're all about bringing people together through the love of music, no matter where you’re from.

Burnski's high-quality Constant Black is back with more essential club-ready sounds. Donnie Cosmo and Pascal Benjamin step up for one side of action each. Cosmo's 'Holo Glitch' is first and pairs balmy synth work that is colourful and silky with some punchy tech drums and rolling bass that pulls you in deep. 'Echo Drift' is another lithe and lively one to get you on your toes while the groove flows and 'Airplane Mode' is another stylish mix of lush synth design and great rhythm. Benjamin's trio on the flip is a little more gritty with industrial-space-tech many the most fitting way to describe these curious cosmic cuts.

The second chapter of Mood Waves’ Digital Moods series finds the label crew and close affiliates navigating the smoother side of their sonic spectrum - though “smooth” here comes with the subtext of late-night mischief. Five tracks, five angles, yet a shared thread: music designed for the after-hours mind, whether that’s a living room deep dive or the final stretch of a club marathon. Among the contributions sits a slice of nocturnal hypnosis from one of the label’s own - DJ Tjizza - who uses Astrodome to remind us that sometimes the straightest path to transcendence is the one without any scenic detours.

With "Astrodome", DJ Tjizza strips things to their essentials: an Acid line with purpose, a rhythm that doesn’t waver, and a partly spoken vocal that lands like a coded message from another frequency. The groove is unrelenting, the atmosphere shaded in darker hues, and there’s no sense of playful meandering - Tjizza has you locked in from the first bar and keeps you there, suspended in a bubble where time bends to the beat. It’s a track that thrives in the later hours, when the crowd is less concerned with build-ups and breakdowns, and more attuned to the hypnotic momentum of a well-aimed groove.

With "Astrodome", DJ Tjizza delivers a distilled statement of intent that fits seamlessly into "Digital Moods 02’s" deep-flowing aesthetic while adding that edge of after-hours bite. It’s Mood Waves’ crew at their best - personal, precise, and perfectly tuned for the heads who know that the real magic often happens long after the night begins.

Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
