Andreja Salpe is known for his creativity and unique sound in making electronic music that echoes the modern dancefloor groove. His track ‘𝐈𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝’ leads us to a realm of groovy techno bits electrified with guitar riffs and tribal motions.

L.O.V.D is the imminent producer who doesn’t hesitate to play live and when performing brings the best to the audience. Active for some time, he gradually builds his distinctive sound. His track ‘𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬’ is a proper downtempo techno tune with a generic voice overflowing the rhythm and filling the atmosphere.

We are happy this release has remixes by two young and talented producers. ‘Ice Cold’ remix by 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 drives us to a hypnotic atmosphere of industrial underground techno. He is one of the producers modelling the emerging modern Mexican electronic music.

‘Human Conditions’ remix by the uprising Lithuanian producer 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 reveals the song in a more minimalistic way with an increased dynamic that creates a danceable ambience.

This was the last track we recorded for the album, which I felt still needed a very personal and heartfelt song that could be the emotional anchor.  I believe that we all can probably relate to this  anchor the album emotionally. We all probably can relate to the combination of fragility and passion, that we all make mistakes, and we all need to be forgiven - maybe first of all by ourselves.

About the Author; Author's Notes

Elysian Drift asks, "where is my electricity?"  This vintage progressive rock tune from the Canadian rock foursome considers where each of us invests our 'energy.' As the band's surprise vocalist muses, "somethin' different, I guess... but, ah, I don't know."  

Where's My Electricity

Elysian Drift wonders when the mask will fall. This progressive rock tune takes a multi-stylistic journey to the point where the 'reality' of any situation breaks the fragile facade so often used to placate and protect. Is your "fear of gravity" sleeping?

My Charade

Guitarist/Vocalist, James Hrkach, delves into the isolated world of the self-indulgent. Fuelled with influences from Floyd and Rush, this progressive/alternative piece is rumoured to be the first movement of a trilogy following the protagonist’s climb out of a pit of navel-gazing despair.

Speculum

From the band's Keyboardist, Ian Skinner, Freedom starts out high energy and... well, attempts to go "higher." Forget seatbelts and guardrails for this one as the 'Drift' points us to that transcendent trust that inspires spirits to soar.

A slower drift tune that explores the tension between the material and spiritual worlds with a contemplative but persistent 12 string guitar interrupted by power chords and vocal lamentation.

At Least With Hope

“Perfect Timing, Dad” is about what happens when one person’s emotions take up all the space — when only one voice is allowed to matter, and everyone else learns to stay quiet just to survive.
It’s a song about the hidden damage that comes from being told what to think, what to feel, or what not to say — all because someone else can’t handle it.
Those moments leave marks that echo for years, until silence finally turns into anger.
The story in this song is fictional — but it’s true.
It’s true because it speaks for anyone who’s ever been made to doubt their own feelings, or who’s learned to laugh instead of cry.
It’s a reminder: never let anyone tell you what to feel or what to think.
Because the moment you give that away, you stop being fully human.

Elysian Drift… Forty years in the making. We’re not kidding!

Almost forty years! Four friends from a small rural Ontario town who had the audacity to think that they could push the musical boundaries of the rock/progressive rock genre following in the footsteps of their musical influences – Pink Floyd, Rush, Supertramp, Yes, Chick Corea, The Beatles, etc.

So why did it take so long? What happened?

In a word, ‘Life’ happened – first jobs, to first loves; the marriages, the separations; births and deaths; diversions and conversions. And in spite of it all, an inexplicable energy and chemistry between us has created a unique bond under which we gather and for which we have given the name, Elysian Drift. These first songs being released were crafted in the late seventies and early eighties.

We were a bunch of kids trying to say things about which we had little or no experience; not to mention very limited musical skills with which to express them. Today we’re definitely older, maybe a little wiser and just a tad more proficient in our playing abilities.

"The God Gene" is a concept centered on humanity's connection (or lack thereof) physically and spiritually (though not necessarily religiously). 

Think of "God" in the sense of an unexplainable metaphysical force that connects us to everything within existence (whether we are aware of it or not). 

Think of "Gene" as the physical boundaries we find ourselves within, during this particular existence, at this specific time. 

"The God Gene" can also symbolize the confusing (and often violent) existential crisis we collectively find ourselves in.

Music is the cure
