Hanumankind – Big Dawgs Ft. Kalmi (IST Bootleg)

I was honored to receive an invitation to come play a set at Orlando's Best Weekly Drum & Bass night INTROSPECTIVE @ IRON COW. This is by far one of my favorite sets to date and special in the sense that this was a little DJ Bucket list item for me, Ive wanted to play here for a long time. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed playing this set.

This ominous sounding title and the song itself came to me the day after the meeting between (president) Trump and (president) Zelensky (and of course vice-president Vance) in the Oval Office. This particular meeting left me dumbfounded and baffled and I didn’t really know what to do with my thoughts and feelings so I made this song. To hear someone mention WWIII out loud left me with a lot of thoughts and at the same time gave me the idea for this song. So thank you for the inspiration. First I wanted to call this song ‘The Awful Office’ (it was a ‘regrettable meeting’ to say the least) but that was to harsh and didn’t cover the feeling I had and wanted to express with this song. The title speaks for itself I guess. The songs subtitle is ‘Hemimetabolism’ which means incomplete or partial metamorphosis. Hemimetabolism is describes the mode of development of certain insects. During this phenomenon the offspring (nymphs) of these insects resemble the adults but still have to develop to their adult form (missing their wings and reproductive organs for example). I thought this phenomenon was a nice touch to the development of this song and maybe even the world in general (except for the part about the wings and reproductive organs :p). The world is run by ‘grown ups’ considered as adults (and hopefully) wise people but the world is not run by wise people. It’s still ego’s and money that rule the world. Just look at all the conflicts around the globe right now (without naming countries or people; just read or look at the news). I think that we, the human race, are still in some sort of developmental stage to something that we cannot comprehend at this moment. Hopefully we’ll develop into something better. Song wise the meaning of hemimetabolism is as follows; the ending resembles the ominous beginning and midpart (more or less the same chords and progression) but the song changes into a more hopeful (albeit still melancholic) sound after a short silence. After listening to the ending for a while I noticed it sounded a bit like ‘October Swimmer’ by JJ72 (remember them?). This wasn’t intentional. I think I'll use this song as a closing song on my next EP or album. Anyway, here it is.

Imran Khan Humankind

I wrote this album over the course of a year. Last year, to be precise, and this year. It's a case study of how I could use AI to assist in my music production. For now, I utilize my favorite tools -- Musescore, LMMS, and Cakewalk to produce the instrumentals, but I use AI to take care of the singing part. In most cases, I needed to strip the AI vocals off of their instrumentals, so for that I go to OpenVino in Audacity, which I use to mater my music anyway. I hope you all enjoy the music with the same care and curiosity it took to make it.

I am Lukas Zangerle, an archaeologist, teacher, and generative music composer. My music arises from emotions, memories, and spontaneous thoughts that emerge from my imagination and daily experiences. For me, creating generative music is like writing a diary, transforming these feelings into sounds where rhythm sincerely expresses my state of mind.

As Ämpers@nd I am producing (largely but not always intentionally) melancholic and dark-sounding ambient and soundscapes. Occasionally I produce chill and relaxing (almost meditative) songs and (experimental) electronic music.

Jean Meyer is born in 1980. Son of an art journalist father and a professional pianist mother, he is quickly immersed in the musical world. When he was six years old, he already took a distinctive musical journey, starting with hard rock to flow a bit later on Punk and then Space. In 1996 he discovers the "Rave Party's" universe, spreading everywhere in Switzerland at that time. From then on, he becomes more and more interested and active into mixing and different mixing techniques. He starts to produce various animations in private parties, and finally comes out in the open in the Lausanne public places such as the bar La Mine, Le Parloir in the MAD Club and the 4310.

Since 2000, he puts the Party world aside to fully focus on his professional pursuit. But his passion for music and the urge to share it soon took him back behind his mixing tables in 2009. He produces himself again in various private parties, in bars such as the Hydromel,the Sidewalk Café, the Cactus, the N2O and in clubs such as La Ruche, Le Vinyle and The Hive of Zurich. He also played at Sonar Off Festival @Mirabe Hotel in Barcelona. His repertory is rich and various, going from Deep-House to Tech-House, from Minimal to dark Minimal, including pure Techno. Actually, Jean Meyer focuses essentially on producing his tracks.

Jean Meyer est né en 1980 à Lausanne. Fils d'un père chroniqueur artistique et d’une mère pianiste, il est très vite plongé dans l’univers de la musique. A l’âge de six ans déjà, il se singularise en écoutant du Hard Rock pour dériver un peu plus tard sur Le Punk et La Space. En 1996, il découvre le monde des «Rave Partys» qui pullulent en Suisse. Dès lors, il s’intéresse au mix et à ses différentes techniques. Il commence à faire diverses animations dans des fêtes privées, pour finalement déboucher dans des lieux lausannois tels que le Bar laMine, Le Parloir du Mad et le Club 4310.

Au cours des années 2000, il laisse le monde de la fête pour se concentrer pleinement à sa réalisation professionnelle. Mais son amour de la musique et l’envie de le partager sont tels qu’il se remet derrière les platines en 2009. Il joue dans diverses soirées privées, dans des bars tels que l'Hydromel, le Sidewalk Café, le Cactus, le N2O et des clubs tels que La Ruche et Le Vinyle et le Hive de Zurich.
