This summer I had a privilege to play a live performance at a very unique, monumental and beautiful place - La Cité radieuse, in Marseille. 

I choose to play an interpretation of Terry Riley’s “In C” composition. To be honest I already played it but I wasn’t satisfied with the result and I din’t recored it, so it was a perfect occasion to do it the right way. 

Part for the geeks :

This composition is known to include any number of musicians to repeat a series of 53 melodic fragments in a guided improvisation. So I created 53 midi clips in Ableton (in F#, don’t ask why) which were randomly triggered and I used 6 voices of my Electron Cycles, one sine wave pulse and few additional instruments in Ableton. In total I had an equivalent of 10 musicians playing at the same time. The improvisation on my side was mostly about effects (master channel and individual channels) and mixing on the fly. Doing it this way intrigued me as it created some sort of question / answer way of live interaction.

Rickyjam – Live set “In C” (Terry Riley Tribute) | Music Talk 2025, Museum of Music Bologna
On November 2, 2025, Rickyjam (Riccardo Nanni) performed an electronic live set inspired by Terry Riley’s famous minimalist work “In C” at the Museum of Music in Bologna. This live set was part of Music Talk 2025, a mini-series of three events dedicated to Riley, included in the broader festival #novecento – music from another millennium.
By reworking some of the 53 patterns from the original piece, Rickyjam creates a hypnotic soundscape made of electronic drones, ambient textures, and trance pulses, embodying the minimalist tradition with its collective and experimental nature. Music Talk 2025, a POPCult SRL project supported by the Municipality of Bologna, celebrates Riley as a pioneer of minimalism and offers a platform for dialogues, performances, and immersive sound experimentation.
This set fits into a cultural journey that blends innovation and homage, exploring contemporary sonic territories with deep roots in modern music.

As a teenager, he had been always interested in local entertainment world.
He paid always much attention to the music background of every single DJ’s event. Soon he had started he’s own rehearse, from the beginning without the public. With the time passing by Radek had practised with passion at home, his artistry had come up to the orginal form.
His debut began from 2003, when he get behind the console in the one of the famous local Club in his area.That was the time when it shows up that music he was performing public becom fond. Further many others Club’s had invited Radek, he had fight mind and souls of his fans. With tears In his eyes he reminds his first Club Puls in Sępólno Krajeńskie.
Diligence, patience and simplicity are the feature which can not lead Radek’s behind the others DJ’s. Since his first important performance he had met many splendid DJ’s and people which help him develop his workshop. Radek constantly improves his style. Nowadays Rani De Rush visiting many Clubs across Poland playing with first- rate DJ’s.
