Dust Jam (real name Dustin James) is a rapper/producer from Northern California. He was first introduced to hip hop music by MC Hammer. "Old school hip hop is what I grew up with so it's ingrained in my DNA. It made an impression on me and I gravitated towards it." Dust Jam says.

If you mixed up the funky beats and vocal stylings of Paul's Boutique by the Beastie Boys and the bizarre subject matter of rapper MF Doom, you might end up with Dust Jam.

Dust Jam never forgets why he makes music in the first place. "I think a lot of music artists nowadays forget that they are entertainers. They take what they are doing too seriously to the point where it isn't much fun. If you aren't entertaining your audience then you aren't doing your job."

For Dust Jam, hip hop was always a form of creative self expression. "Music comes first then money comes second. I want to have fun with what I am doing first and foremost."

Dust Jam's lyrics are mostly centered on comedic and weird themes. "What can I say, I have a unique perspective of the world and that is clearly reflected in my music. My hope is that my music entertains and challenges people."
