This is a poem written by my nephew(Adam) on 9/11/2001 @ 7:46 AM. My brother(Brian) sent it to me and thought I might add some music to the poetry.
Some background on the fateful dark day in American history.....

"The September 11 attacks, also known as 9/11, were four coordinated Islamist terrorist suicide attacks by al-Qaeda against the United States in 2001. Nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners, crashing the first two into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the third into the Pentagon (headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense) in Arlington County, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed in a rural Pennsylvania field (Present-day, Flight 93 National Memorial) during a passenger revolt. The attacks killed 2,977 people, making it the deadliest terrorist attack in history. In response to the attacks, the United States waged the global war on terror over multiple decades to eliminate hostile groups deemed terrorist organizations, as well as the governments purported to support them." Came and Went  - Unplugged

Astoria, Oregon, sits where the Columbia River meets the Pacific, once busy with the timber trade and ships bound for the world. But the docks held darker tales too — men were sometimes “shanghaied,” tricked or kidnapped and forced aboard ships heading overseas.

Echoes Between the Rails blends this history with imagination. The “rails” hint at the bridge and the paths of the past, while the song tells of ships, ghostly crews, and voices that still linger. It’s serious, but also invites listeners — and students — to hear history as a living story carried on the river’s tide.

For my father, Devi Prasad Sinha, whose death has hit me progressively worse with each passing day. A lot of regrets that will remain unresolved.

One thing I will eternally be thankful for was his unrelenting support for the music I make, never once questioning my choice to abandon conventional life choices, jobs and stability (financial and otherwise) to stick to the arts.

So on his birthday on 31st August, I decided to do the one thing that I knew he was immensely proud of me for: I took the entire day to write, compose and produce this song. 

None of this feels real.

Made Of Stone

“I Awake When You Call Out My Name” is my debut single, a folk-inspired song about the beauty of being found, regenerated, called, and awakened by God’s voice. What we call being born again of the Spirit of God. It’s a song written to remind us that God calls whom He chooses at anytime,sometimes in the most unexpected moments, His Spirit makes us alive in Him through the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have enjoyed music for as long as I can remember and cannot remember a day of not either singing or listening to music. I am self-taught when it comes to playing guitar but what I most enjoy is singing which I have been doing since around age 18. Now retired singing and playing the guitar is now just a hobby and something I do to help pass the time. Have always  loved the sound of a Martin guitar.
