People are focused on the server issues right now, as they should be. However, as someone who managed to play a fair bit before the servers fried themselves, I wanted to talk about the other problems Payday 3 has. I expect others will bring these up once they get a chance to play the game, but I think it's never too soon to offer feedback.


The always online nonsense causing many problems. Of course, server issues being the most pressing, but there being a 2-3 second long pause whenever you wanna buy or customize something, because the server has to authenticate it, just feels awful. In addition to this, my weapon progress is usually 1 game "behind." I'll finish a heist, a weapon will go from level 3 to 5, but it still reads as level 3 in my inventory and won't let me equip my new level 5 stuff, for example.


Payday 3 had a less-than-spectacular launch yesterday, as Starbreeze Studios' first-person shooter was plagued with server issues. With the developer under scrutiny, the studio's CEO has apologized for the issues.


Less than 24 hours after acknowledging the issues with the server, Starbreeze posted on the official Payday account on X that the studio said that the server issues should be fixed now. Despite this, however, several users on Reddit are still reporting server issues.


While Payday 3 was officially released yesterday, it was available to some people early depending on which version they purchased. While the server issues were the subject of discussion yesterday and today, users who had access to the game three days early were also reporting issues with the servers, including Redditor firestep92, who wrote that two out of the three days the early access period was live, the servers were acting up.





Launch week server headaches have rankled everyone trying to play Payday 3, but the most frustrated are those who don't even want to play the new co-op heist shooter online. Payday 3's always-online construction means that solo players still have to connect to the matchmaking servers to start private heists, which has subjected them to the same errors and long queues as multiplayer heisters.


Payday 3 developer Starbreeze has been keeping players updated about the server issues on X, most recently stating that it's "still working on the current matchmaking service outage" and is "hoping to have a more positive update soon."


What I need to do, is calculate the last payday of the year. If I set @FromDate to 12/15/2013, this works, but I don't believe I can rely on that in cases where December is a three check month. My preference is to set the FromDate to 12/01/YYYY and get the last payday of that year, but I cannot seem to wrap my mind around how to pull that off.


As player numbers peaked, matchmaking servers and game servers were unable to scale sufficiently to meet demand, which meant the game was inaccessible from around 21.45 CEST. Starbreeze, together with partners and matchmaking and server vendors have worked throughout the night to identify the root cause and restore full functionality across all online services. Several fixes and patches to server infrastructure have been rolled out during the night, but matchmaking services are still not currently working as intended.


"A new version of the matchmaking server software was gradually deployed across all regions leading to improved performance. However, a software update made by the partner during late Sunday again introduced instability to the matchmaking infrastructure. The partner continues to work to improve and stabilise Payday 3's online systems."


The Payday 3 X/Twitter account is where you will find up to date information regarding the health of the servers including any scheduled maintenance. For example, during the launch period, Starbreeze continually updated players via the social media platform every hour
