Depuis le 7 octobre j'ai publié toute une série de compositions, sous le titre : « Journal intime en temps de guerre … » Voici un Halleluyah, accompagné cette fois à la guitare. Le texte et la musique sont de moi, l'écrivain israélien Immanuel Belhassen m'a aidé à réaliser cette très belle version hébreue de mon texte original en français. Merci à toi cousin bien-aimé et terriblement doué dans d'innombrables domaines.

C'est un poème mis en musique. Dans ce poème que j'ai écrit il y a quelques années dans une période de crise, je demande à Jérusalem, au nom de l'amour immense que j'ai toujours ressenti à son égard, de prier pour moi. Récemment, voulant rajouter à la version hébreue de mon texte, le mot énigmatique « Sélah » (qui apparait de temps à autres dans "le Livre des psaumes"), j'en suis venu à écrire encore quelques vers supplémentaires. Ceux-ci sont une demande à Jérusalem, de prier non plus pour moi mais pour tout le peuple d'Israël. Or au moment même de la rédaction de ces derniers vers, le retour des kidnappés du 7 Octobre fut soudain décidé et se vit  enfin réalisé. Toute cette œuvre prend du coup pour moi, une dimension toute particulière.

זהו שיר שהולחן. בשיר הזה, שכתבתי לפני כמה שנים בתקופה של משבר, אני
מבקש מירושלים – בשם האהבה העצומה שתמיד חשתי כלפיה – להתפלל בעדי.
לאחרונה, כשביקשתי להוסיף לגרסה העברית של הטקסט שלי את המילה החידתית
"סֶלָה" (המופיעה מדי פעם בספר תהילים), מצאתי את עצמי כותב עוד כמה
שורות. שורות אלו הן בקשה לירושלים, שתִתְפַּלֵּל לא עוד בעדי בלבד, אלא
בעד כל עם ישראל. ובעצם ברגע כתיבתן, הוחלט לפתע על שובם של החטופים מיום
השבעה באוקטובר — והדבר גם יצא אל הפועל. בשל כך קיבלה כל היצירה הזו
עבורי משמעות מיוחדת במינה.

This is a poem set to music. In this poem, which I wrote a few years
ago during a time of crisis, I ask Jerusalem—out of the immense love I
have always felt for her—to pray for me. Recently, wishing to add to
the Hebrew version of my text the enigmatic word “Selah” (which
appears from time to time in the Book of Psalms), I found myself
writing a few additional lines. These new verses are a request to
Jerusalem, not to pray for me alone, but for the entire people of
Israel. And at the very moment I wrote these final lines, the return
of the hostages from October 7th was suddenly decided—and soon
afterward fulfilled. As a result, this whole work has taken on, a very
special meaning for me.

לְקוֹלֵךְ יְרוּשָׁלַיִם
מָה אֲהַבְתִּיךְ, יְרוּשָׁלַיִם! הִתְפַּלְּלִי עָלַי, עַל אִשְׁתִּי, עַל נֹעָה וְעַל
כָּל צֶאֱצָאַי. 
שֶׁיִּסְלַח לִי אֱלֹהִים עַל טֵרוּפִי; שֶׁהַחַיִּים וְהַבְּרִיאוּת יֻחְזְרוּ לִי. 
עַכְשָׁו אֲנִי יוֹדֵעַ כַּמָּה נִסִּים עָשָׂה לִי אֱלֹהִים. 
תּוֹדָה עַל כָּל הַשָּׁנִים שֶׁל שִׂמְחָה וּבְרִיאוּת, שָׁנִים שֶׁל יְצִירָה. 
זֶה הַנִּגּוּן שֶׁל יְרוּשָׁלַיִם, שֶׁזָּכִיתִי לִשְׁמֹעַ. 
כָּל כָּךְ אָהַבְתִּי לְטַיֵּל בִּרְחוֹבוֹתַיִךְ, הוֹ יְרוּשָׁלַיִם! 
אֶת כֻּלָּן רָצִיתִי לְהַכִּיר. מֵעוֹלָם לֹא הִשְׁתַּעֲמַמְתִּי, נֶהֱנֵיתִי מִכָּל
רֶגַע.
כַּמָּה אֲנִי מִתְגַּעֲגֵעַ לְשִׂמְחַת הַחַיִּים וְלַבְּרִיאוּת הַשְּׁלֵמָה. 
אָנָּא, הִתְפַּלְּלִי עָלַי, יְרוּשָׁלַיִם! 
כִּי אֹהֵב יְהוָה אֶת קוֹלֵךְ; הוּא יֵעָתֵר לָךְ. סֶלָה.

וְעַכְשָׁו אֲנִי מֵבִין, עַכְשָׁו אֲנִי יוֹדֵעַ, כַּמָּה נִסִּים אֱלֹהִים עָשָׂה. 
הֲלֹא כָּל שִׁירַיִךְ, צִיּוֹן, כְּבָר נִשְׁמָעִים בִּשְׁעָרַיִךְ. 
אָנָּא, יְרוּשָׁלַיִם, הִתְפַּלְּלִי שֶׁבְּרִיאוּת וְשִׂמְחָה לְתָמִיד יְשׁוּבוּן. 
כִּי אֹהֵב יְהוָה אֶת קוֹלֵךְ, וּבְחֶסֶד יַעֲנֶה לוֹ.
