Just Shut Up

After watching the news about the volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, the four-piece post-rock band Laxá composed the first track of their new album as a result. 

Entititled "Eldensgill," which translates as "Fire Angel", it melds post rock and classical elements provided by the Heima Quartet.

The Icelandic winters are long and dark, sinister shadows lurk and after months your mind messes with you. The new track from Icelandic post-rock band Laxá A Friend Of Darkness captures the mood. 

Equal parts harsh and melodic at 8 minutes long the pieces captures the almost interminable harshness at the same time being a post rock instrumental that fills the blackness.

The verses, chorus and the bridge are written as different songs! I was experimenting and added those three parts together and this is the outcome. And even I like it! 
The lyrics are about being in toxic relationship and desperately trying to find a way to get out. Something too many people know.

Sigur ros - The nothing song

Well, well, well. This track. I wrote the original chord progression on guitar. I was experimenting whith chords like Eadd9, Amaj7 and it kinda sounded good for the verses. Wrote the chorus and bridge later (also on guitar).
I´ve done some demos of the track and released them before but took them soon down. Something was missing and I knew what when I got in contack with a singer named Sol. Her vocals stunned me and the song sounded totally different. I did the backing vocals in the chorus and the bridge. 

The song is full of emotions and I needed to express them in the music and the lyrics. That is what music is to me. Express my emotions. I believe many of you relate to the lyrics in one way or another.

“Nobody’s Groovy Anymore” is a sprawling seven-minute epic from Icelandic post-rock collective Laxá & Heima Kvartett, teetering on the edge of prog. The track builds from a foundation of shimmering guitars and insistent pizzicato strings, anchored by Bjarne Guðjohnsen’s thunderous dub-tinged basslines. There’s a restless energy in the shifting time signatures and layered instrumentation—Matthias Helguson’s drums drive the track forward while Mike Taylor’s keys offer both shimmer and shadow. The Heima Kvartett—Lisbeth Heima, Sif Árnadóttir, Natasha Guðmundsdóttir, and Ída Sigurðardóttir—pull the piece in and out of tension with sweeping strings and sudden stabs, making for a journey that feels both cinematic and deeply alive. Hey there, music enthusiasts! I'm Oz a hobbyist musician who's been strumming the strings of my guitar since my teenage years. I´ve for few years been writing songs and lyrics for myself in my spare time. Been learning by doing if you like. My purpose of sharing songs is (beyond my own pleasure) to find someone who is interested in playing my songs using and/or publish.

I wrote and released some instrumental tracks in the beginning which I liked a lot to create. Like to be experimental. With incresed confidence I started to add my vocsls. Unfortunately I´ve to use primitive equipment to sing. Do it through headphones on my computer. 
I´ve gained a good experience in both writing songs, lyrics and arrangement. Since I use my vocals for all the tracks I regard them as demos and I hope somebody would be interested to sing them. 
I love to write music and for me the best way to express any kind of emotions I´m going through in my life.
