Lexgreen Services Limited v HMRC [2025] UKFTT 1019 (TC)

This podcast discusses the UK Supreme Court concerning HMRC v Parry and others, which addresses whether actions taken by a deceased individual regarding her pension fund should incur Inheritance Tax (IHT). The primary issues revolved around two specific events: the deceased’s transfer of funds into a personal pension plan shortly before her death, and her deliberate omission to draw lifetime benefits from that plan. The majority of the court ultimately determined that the initial transfer of funds was exempt from taxation because it was not intended to confer a gratuitous benefit on her sons, but rather to sever ties with her ex-husband's company. However, the court unanimously held that the subsequent omission to take benefits was a taxable disposition under Section 3(3) of the Inheritance Tax Act, as the discretionary decision of the pension administrator did not break the causal link required for taxation. This judgment resolves the long-running dispute that had seen conflicting findings in the lower tribunals.

He started dreaming about DJing already at 6 years old when he stepped into the world of EDM. His biggest inspiration to start his career were Martin Garrix, Avicii, Tiësto and Nicky Romero. When he was 13 he started listening to Techno and Hard techno. At 15 he went to his first private rave party and fell in love with Schranz and Hard Techno. Not long after that he bought his first controller and he started experimenting with different genres of Hard Techno. At 16 he got his first chance to DJ affront of a public and that is where his DJ career started. He mostly played Schranz and Hard Techno, but then switched to Industrial Hard Techno and Bochka. His style is mostly inspired by PARAPHER and CEKTA, with constant mixing of sounds, hard fader chops and intense buildups. He mostly played at private raves but at 18 years old he got his first chance to DJ in a real club in Ljubljana, where he was warming up the stage for RE:VISION at the Church Of Hardtechno. After the gig he moved away for some time from DJing and to start producing and experimenting. In that time he met a lot of amazing bochka/industrial techno producers and DJs such as M_R_T, ABAT, M4R3, KØDR, 2FEL and many more. At 19 he got invited to DJ at NOVUS I in Publika Bar & Klub Ljubljana, where he was closing the event in style, with a industrial techno start and a hard bochka ending. After NOVUS I people recognize the name NØCNITSA after very energy filled sets and a very unique style of mixing tracks.
