In a land of forests and trees so tall,
Lived Little Red-Cap, loved by all.
With her red velvet cap, she roamed each day,
Known for her kindness, she'd give it away.

One morning her mother, with loving care,
Said, "Take this cake and wine, Little Red-Cap fair.
To your grandma's house, now quickly go,
She's weak and ill, and these will make her glow."

Red-Cap set off, not a worry in sight,
But a wolf met her, eyes gleaming bright.
"Good day, Little Red-Cap," he said with a smile,
"Where are you off to, in such grand style?"

"To my grandma's," she replied, unafraid,
"With cake and wine, a visit's made."
But the wolf, so sly, had a plan in mind,
To catch both Red-Cap and grandma, unkind.

"Look at the flowers, so pretty and neat,
Why not stop, Little Red-Cap, and take a seat?"
Red-Cap, so trusting, wandered away,
Picking flowers, while the wolf had his way.

Meanwhile, the wolf to grandma's house sped,
Knocking at the door, where the old lady's bed.
With a quick gulp, grandma was no more,
The wolf donned her clothes, ready to score.

Red-Cap arrived, feeling strange and odd,
Something wasn't right, in the house of God.
"Grandma," she called, with a voice of cheer,
But the wolf, in bed, was drawing near.

"Oh, grandma, what big ears you've got,"
"To hear you better, my dear," he thought.
"And your eyes, they're so big and wide,"
"To see you clearer," the wolf replied.

"But grandma, your hands are enormous and strong,"
"To hold you close, where you belong."
"Your mouth, oh grandma, it's terribly wide,"
"To swallow you whole," the wolf lied.

With a leap, the wolf, his secret out,
Tried to devour Red-Cap, no room for doubt.
But a huntsman came, with scissors in hand,
Saved Red-Cap and grandma, with a plan so grand.

The wolf met his end, with stones in his belly,
No more tricks, no more acts of smelly.
And Red-Cap learned, in the forest so deep,
To stick to the path, and her promises keep.

So remember this tale, of Red-Cap's plight,
And stick to the path, in the dark of night.
For wolves may lurk, with eyes so keen,
But with wit and wisdom, you'll never be seen.
