It is a genuine thrill to be part of the Electronic Convergence team (formerly Timeline Music) and once again assembling a live Verdant Session which is now in its eighth year.   This set submerges down into my favourite deep, bendy and atmospheric techno landscapes whilst spanning 30years of techno from early Aphex Twin,  Resistance D & Schizophrenia through to the latest Sungate (with Taupe) and We're Going Deep (with Remote) releases that landed with me this week. Last fall when she crossed paths with Function (Dave Sumner), the mutual admiration was instantaneous and they developed a reciprocal appreciation for each other's creative output. Upon hearing the immediacy of her demos, Sumner didn’t just want a 12-inch; he proposed to work on a full-length Identity. The result now serves as solid evidence that she’s intentionally pushing the label forward into new places.

It’s no surprise that Sandwell District championed the album early on — nearly every track showed up in their sets and podcasts, marking Nastia Reigel as a new favorite artist of techno’s most influential collective.
