hey hi hello, friends! here's my live set from Ego Trip's annual Leather & Lace event at SPiN with Serge Devant back in February. I was the small gal in the loft playing at midnight ;)

Torie’s sound is multifaceted – to say the least. Coming from a global upbringing and current home base in the San Francisco Bay Area, she has been curating sonic adventures as a DJ and event producer for a decade. Torie interweaves elements of breakbeats, house, minimal, dark & driving techno, garage, acid, and drum and bass – balancing a line between heavy-hitting basslines and soulful vocals with ear-catching melodies.

She believes in the power of groove and always plays with one core intention in mind: to bring newfound life to the dancefloor.

As a core lead of Inquiry Collective and Inquiry Records, a builder & maker with Burning Man art cars ICARUS and Dusty Rhino, a resident DJ of You’re Welcome SF, and a co-founder of Dance With Haha, Torie draws inspiration from the dusty plains of the playa, the curious explorations of the Mojave desert, the underground dancefloors of SF, & the interstellar endeavors of ICARUS & its motley crew.

Torie has performed with KiNK, Superflu, Justin Martin, Overmono, Maya Jane Coles, Smilk, Anja Schneider, Tale of Us, Patrice Baumel, Marbs, Mikey Lion, Porky and Evan Casey, Rinzen, Dance Spirit, Eskuche, Marques Wyatt, Tycho, KMLN, Sabo, Justin Jay, Hoj, Kevin Knapp, Shiba San, Joeski and more. 

You may have also seen her with renowned crews like Space Cowboys, Distrikt, Ego Trip, and Desert Hearts – at the annual Breakfast of Champions block party on New Year’s Day for six consecutive years – or on the festival circuit at events including Lightning in a Bottle, Outside Lands, EDC Las Vegas, Northern Nights, Desert Hearts, The Untz Festival, Umbrella Weekend, Enigma, and Outside in Equinox. 

In 2025, you can find Torie throwing renegades and pop-ups with the Inquiry crew across California in clubs, deserts, undisclosed locations and beyond… as well as performing in SF, SD, Reno, LA and more.

Psychotic Surge: An Anti-Musical Cartography

Between Rio de Janeiro's humid nights and the Bay Area's electric fog emerges a sonic territory that refuses naming. Psychotic Surge inhabits the threshold where structured rhythm dissolves into controlled chaos, where the predictable becomes uncanny. Here, experimental improvisations capture fleeting auras—each recording a unique fingerprint of temporal collapse, where early acid techno memories bleed into orchestral synthetic dreams, noise becomes prayer, and minimal compass constraints birth maximal expression.|

This is not music seeking approval but sound demanding participation. Like thought before language, these compositions exist in the space between intention and accident, where repetition becomes difference and structure emerges from its own undoing. The project traces a geography of becoming—each track a deterritorialized moment where voices merge with synthesizers not to communicate but to invoke presence itself. Concrete-musique fragments scatter across avant-garde landscapes, creating soundscapes that remember futures and anticipate pasts.

Listen not to understand but to inhabit. Each track opens a clearing where being precedes meaning, where the ear becomes an organ of ontological investigation. Enter these sound-worlds as you would enter memory—sideways, vulnerable, ready to be transformed. The psychotic surge event is not performance but ritual participation in the moment's aura, an invitation to dissolve the boundary between listener and listened. Here, in the grey area where music questions its own existence, you're called to witness sound's capacity to reveal what language conceals—the raw pulse of existence before it learns to speak. Engage these recordings as maps to territories that exist only in their crossing, where each listen births a new geography of sensation.
