Welcome back everyone, to the next episode of Fractal Frequencies! It's been an amazing year for new music so far and I wish I could feature all the killer psytrance tracks that have been dropping these last couple months but I'm still very excited to showcase 18 of my favorite picks. I've been watching Inespector Gadget lately. And I have to say, Penny's Lookout theme is probably my favorite song in the whole series, and she's my favorite character in it altogether. The sense of bravery and determination in the song in contrast with others in the series has always made me enjoy it whenever it played, and it's always so cool watching her spring into  action and help save the day. It's so sweet, in a way. I'm glad I decided to cover this.
No square channels this time - I wanted to see if I could make a cover that didn't utilize them, since I seemed.... Kind of dependent on them? I like to imagine that it turned out well, especially with how I handled certain instruments in the song, namely the brass sections. There was also this soft percussion instrument that I couldn't quite make out the name of, but I did try to emulate that the best that I could, too. I thought the noise channel would be less emphasized in Furnace than in Famitracker, but it seems just as important there. Never forget the noise channel. Also learned how to track the 'techno bass ' - which is just a normal bass with a ton of mute placements between each of its notes. It's surprisingly easy!
I'm gradually getting more and more familiar with Furnace each time I use it. One of these days, I'll make something completely original.  Is that the next project? Or is it another cover? Even I don't know, really. But whatever it is I decide to do, I hope you all continue to enjoy it!

California-based artist Garrett Tolari got his start mixing magical melodic and psychedelic trance at Burner parties and forest renegades. The deep connection he felt with the musical elements soon led him to start mixing his own magical patterns of melody with progressive and deep bass lines. His inspiration is drawn from artists such as Perfect Stranger, Astrix, Out of Orbit, SOME1 and Captain Hook; he is especially passionate about progressive and psy-techno. His sets often blend psy-tech, dark prog, progressive and full-on, to create an electrifying energy that fills the dance floor.
