My musical history dates back 65 years as I learned classical piano for 3 years from the age of 8, then developed my ear by listening to pop and rock songs on the radio and learning them on piano. It's not till I was 17 that I began playing with others in bands for a few years and performed locally. 
I started composing and singing and recording my songs when I turned 50, my mother was dying, she had been a chorist for 30 years, and i wanted to show her that I could sing a lovely love song before she passed at the age of 80 in 2005. I sang « L’important c’est la rose » de Becaud.
I've composed 145 songs and have 140 on Soundcloud for monetizing and distribution. 
I am semi-retired massage therapist and am making more time to compose and record.

Eric Dahl is a songwriter with ties to the state of Washington on both sides of the Cascade mountains. He was born in Colville in the northeastern corner of the state. His father was a teacher from Spokane who soon moved with his family to western Washington. Dahl’s mother is a native of Leavenworth with relatives in the Wenatchee Valley. Eric grew up in Kent and south Seattle, but thanks to his maternal grandfather and uncles, he worked in the Leavenworth fruit orchards and hiked from an early age in the Cascade Mountains to the high lakes. Later he studied and published poetry at Whitman College in Walla Walla, the University of Washington in Seattle, and at Oxford University where he was awarded the Isis Poetry Prize.
