Je onzeker voelen is een gevoel die ieder mens wel eens ervaart. 

Meestal, als je ouder wordt en kundiger in bepaalde taken, kan dit groeien naar zelfvertrouwen. 

Toch zijn er heel veel vrouwen die structureel last houden van onzekerheid en in die mate dat het hun carrière, zelfbeeld, moederschap, relatie, zelfvertrouwen, bekwaamheid en plezier in het leven beperkt. 

Sommige vrouwen kunnen obsessief worden met eten, omdat ze het gevoel hebben fysiek te dik, te dun etc. te zijn. 
 
Andere vrouwen hebben last van het gevoel dat anderen het altijd beter kunnen en gaan daardoor altijd op de achtergrond staan.
 
Of je bent zo nerveus voor die presentatie, dat je er al nachten wakker van ligt, zo onzeker over jezelf of je het kan. 

De energie van onzekerheid beweegt terug en zorgt dat jij naar de achtergrond verdwijnt van je eigen toneelstuk. In plaats van jezelf uit te pakken zoal je bent, is er een negatieve kijk naar binnen ontstaan die je in de weg staat vrijuit tevreden je EIGEN leven te leven. 

Vanuit de maatschappij is er altijd extra druk naar vrouwen (bemoeizucht). Een vrouw dient tegenwoordig als een soort super woman bijna alles tegelijk te moeten kunnen, maar dient er ook nog goed uit te blijven zien. 

Zelf vind ik het juist heel krachtig en volwassen als je toe kan geven dat je niet overal goed in hoeft te zijn. En dat je bereid bent te kijken of naar wat je nu afwijst in jezelf, werkelijk waar is. 

In deze Gelinde Hengst podcast over onzekerheid leg ik jou de diepere betekenis en uitnodiging van onzekerheid uit. Ook geef ik je een oefening die je zal ondersteunen om dat wat je onzeker maakt, juist te gaan gebruiken om de positieve versie van jou in te nemen. 

Het is ook belangrijk dat onzekerheid er mag zijn, want alles waar je je tegen verzet zal alleen maar groter worden.

Paul Taylor Vogelzang is an award-winning blogger, podcaster, writer, producer and style fanatic, known for his down to earth accessible reporting and advice for men and women 50 + age, and their families. Paul was one of the founding editors of MommyCast & MommyCast Latina, the wildly popular, very first mom podcasts in audio and video, and its producer from 2004 to 2009. Paul’s current, but also award winning podcast, The Not Old - Better Show launched in 2014. Paul continues to share vibrant, focused, entertaining content on the show, and writes frequently about the subjects of fashion, grooming and the “senior man.”  Paul lives just outside of Washington DC, with his lovely wife, Gretchen (also a MommyCast founder), and where the two of them are active in many arts, business and philanthrophic organizations, love to feed the Northern Wren, and are the parents of two sons.


Rick launched the Life Over Coffee global training network in 2008 to bring hope and help for you and others by creating resources that spark conversations for transformation. His primary responsibilities are resource creation and leadership development, which he does through speaking, writing, podcasting, and educating.

In 1990 he earned a BA in Theology and, in 1991, a BS in Education. In 1993, he received his ordination into Christian ministry, and in 2000 he graduated with an MA in Counseling from The Master's University. In 2006 he was recognized as a Fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).
