Hello everybody!! I'm happy to present my new take on "...WHY?!" the not canon Megalovania replacement for Inverted Fate! I really wanted to do a remix that was more in-line with what WHY sounds like, along with keeping that charm I think my older WHY remix has. This remix takes very heavy inspirations from versions by Drop0ff and Saster! I made sure to keep my own uniqueness in this and I think I really enjoy how it came out!

Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.

Undertale is a 2015 2D role-playing video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox. The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magical barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface, although some monsters might engage the player in a fight. Well, here we are.

This song and I go WAY back. Ever since my first cover of the song back in 2017, I always tried my hardest to constantly improve the song and make it to my fitting. And now, I can say confidently after all this time, that I've made a version that'll stand the test of time. This song means a lot to me.

Incorporating elements from all the past versions of the song made throughout the years, I tried to make this song a love letter to all the musicians who inspired me in my journey with this song in particular. Inverted Fate as an AU has inspired me so much throughout the years and even though the community loves to focus on the hypothetical "No Mercy" run songs made for the AU, the canon comic and story being told is close to my heart similarly to Undertale itself. 

This song was also made as a test of the newly made SFLT plugin made by https://twitter.com/estroBiologist which fixes many of the issues of FL Studio's soundfont sampling in their new version of the Soundfont Player! In addition to that plugin, I decided to finally test out Addictive Drums 2 which gave the track a crisp and punchy drum that fit the scenario of Papyrus' betrayal and struggle of belief perfectly!

And lastly, I wanna thank @george_r1  for helping me with the song's final mix! The dude is immensely talented and has great songs under their belt, so go check out their work! If it wasn't for them, this song wouldn't be as great as it is now!

Inverted Fate - ...WHY?! (Grilled Cover, Final Version)

From feburary of last year

never finished this cause i ended up thinking it was too leitmotif heavy and couldnt come up with any good original melodies for it so, oh well.
The idea behind this was since a genocide route isnt possible in IF under any normal circumstances, this ISNT a normal circumstance. taking some inspiration from rv pines "UT: Dirty Hacker" comic, a vessel for the player is somehow interjected right before when sans papyrus and frisk are walking towards the barrier, and you arent going anywhere without a fight.

After all, this is what you always wanted, right?

Fun fact, this track is actually 2 years old! It was an old commission of mine that I never got around to uploading. It's quite a departure from my usual style, but I was happy with how it came out. As a big fan of Inverted Fate, it felt nice to give the AU a non-Megalo tribute.
