ヤコブよ、
あなたを創造された主は
こう言われる。

イスラエルよ、
あなたを造られた主は
いまこう言われる、

恐れるな、
わたしは あなたをあがなった。

You Are Mine

the vision of God’s holiness was not intended merely to inspire awe; it demanded a response. Isaiah’s vision led him to a profound realization of his sinfulness and the sinfulness of his people. It brought him to the end of himself and the beginning of true spiritual transformation. As the passage moves into Isaiah 6:5-7, Scripture records the necessary progression that must always follow an authentic encounter with God’s holiness: confession, cleansing, and commissioning. In these verses, Isaiah models for every believer how to rightly respond to God’s holiness—not with pride or presumption, but with brokenness, humility, and readiness for divine service. The scene now shifts from a revelation of who God is to a revelation of what must happen within a person’s heart when confronted by His blazing purity. The response to holiness is not optional; it is essential.

さきの事を
思い出してはならない、
また、いにしえのことを
考えてはならない。

見よ、
わたしは新しい事をなす。
やがてそれは起る、

あなたがたは
それを知らないのか。
わたしは荒野に道を設け、
さばくに川を流れさせる。


Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; 
do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.


I Am Doing A New Thing

The servant song of Isaiah for Catholics speaks of Jesus, for Jews speaks of Israel, but the ambiguity of the Hebrew allows us to explore both and more. This servant is also who we are, while at the same time those who dwell in darkness. The covenant spoken about is a covenant people, a covenant unto the people, a covenant for the people. The nation can expand to the world or be one other person who seeks a life with God. We are the covenant for each other through God's blessing on Israel and through the love Jesus the servant brought to the world.

“Higher Than the Heavens” by Dr. Elliot Lach is a reflective worship ballad that meditates on the immeasurable greatness of G-d. Drawing directly from Isaiah 55:9—“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts”—the song invites listeners to marvel at the divine wisdom, creativity, and love that far surpasses human understanding. The lyrics gently remind us that though our lives and plans seem limited, the Creator's pathways and purposes transcend what we can envision.
