This song was written as I watched the news about the horrible wildfire in Lahaina, HI, nearly a year ago.  I wrote it as it was unfolding, as almost all of the historic 1800's whaling town of Lahaina on the northwest side of Maui was burning down.  It resulted in terrible loss of life, homes, jobs and property.  We actually lived in Lahaina for a time, had a home there for 13 years. Those experiences and memories are very important to me, and I was worried about our friends and neighbors.  There's nothing I could do but donate to the reconstruction/relief efforts, and finish the song, out of respect & support for the people of Lahaina.  I'm very thankful to you guys for allowing me to do that.

(Analog recordings were originally done with a Teac 3340 on Ampex 456 Open Reel Tape & transferred at some point to digital/mp3 from cassettes)

This creative team met back in high school in Houston, Texas in 1969. They became friends quickly and discovered a unique synergy early on – songwriting. Keith manifested his expressions mostly in the area of lyrics, while Raji fashioned his creativity through melodies and arrangements.

The number of songs that they generated as young teens in a short period of time was incredible. What was even more astonishing was that neither of them could read a musical note, and yet they were able to compose lyrics, tunes, chords, beats, and develop sophisticated arrangements.

School, work, marriage, children, and associations with other bands threw them onto separate life paths. Raji continued composing with other bands and on his own, while Keith officially took a long hiatus.

The team temporarily regrouped in the early 1980’s for a few profound Christian musical offerings. Eventually, Raji found the time and energy to record many of their earlier songs and publish them – both in several of his novels and on soundcloud.com. Then in late 2021 they regrouped once more to continue their creative journey together.

A lot of people say this radio show is a waste of time, and a lot of people are correct. But Doc G and his co-host Mike Charette are some of the best at wasting time. Every week, listen in with the Doc and Mike discussing everything that's happened since the last show including entertainment, pop culture, music and sports. Every week great guests come on the show to share their art, music, comedy or whatever else they've got! A podcast is posted every Wednesday! They're  recorded as a part of The Doc G Show that airs at 7p ET on  Spinnaker Radio 95.5 FM in Jacksonville Florida.

Blending a Nashville heart with a futuristic soul, the Beau Williams Band is a project conceived by songwriter and producer Beau Williams. The band marries human creativity with artificial intelligence to showcase Williams' songwriting.
