💬 J Plates is back with yet another quality dose of contemporary Jungle in the form of 4 tracker My Disillusion EP. The release offers a selection of dreamy, upfront cuts oozing with J Plates signature production stylings & compositional prowess. Thought provoking enough for an inner journey at home whilst retaining enough motivation for the dance floor, J Plates latest batch of works bridges the gap with a gliding ease; showcasing a tireless direction of things to come and a calculated enthusiasm that delivers without over-extending.

My Disillusion provides the grand opening; it's intricately arranged break beats, juicy synth work, alongside a fundamental of sub bass provides a triumphant ride through technical programming & dreamy melodic overtones; a spell is broken. Trust Me establishes a further lashing of uplifting Jungle with it's sincere vocal refrain, plucked melodic elements and a filtered synth line that weaves throughout the arrangement; past fears are relinquished.

Providing contrast to the first instalment, Go Down launches in with it's smoothly crafted Amen break, thumping sub bass & elementary pad; exercising an immediate upbeat summer time vibe. An opportunistic vocal hook invites the listener to get down and get low; a pace is set. Rounding off the release comes Do It, a more delicate offering of sentimental vocals, sparkling melodies & a firm bass line providing all the heavy lifting; a presence invited.

💬 J Plates continues to deliver with latest instalment Got 2 Have U EP, featuring a throwback 2000's sound packed with characterful attitude; perfect for a dance floor shake down or inner city stroll. Shifting away from the earlier Atmospheric Jungle sounds that the UK based producer has been so fond of, J Plates latest offering takes influence from an era where funk & breakbeats were emphasised with it's steppy breaks, crunchy overtones and persistent bass lines providing the soundtrack for those longer summer months, while still raw enough to align with that old school brashness of decades past.

Title track Got 2 Have U sets an immediate tone for the release with it's brooding pads, euphoric vocal licks and layered stepper breaks keeping the feet & mind moving; while  Revelations follows up with it's darker response of fizzy pads, arpeggiated synth & upfront drums rolling throughout the stripped back arrangement to close off the first half of the EP.

Taking things down a notch, Need Me presents a lighter approach with it's Jazz tinged melodic elements, shuffled breaks and notey sub bass oozing with a more laid back groove. Closing out the release enters final track All This.. with it's uplifting vibe, playful synth & vocal chops and alongside a recognisable gliding bass line sure to heat things up; overall offering a refreshing batch of material dripping with a rich musicality & solid sonic aesthetic.

💬 Enforcing a firm stand with his latest offering Gate To Mars EP, J Plates returns with a barrage of new material sure to please fans of the more darker spectrums within Drum & Bass/Jungle. Loaded to the brim with a serious arsenal of dance floor destroyers, it's clear J Plates has been fostering a fond enthusiasm for more hard edged tracks without compromising on nostalgic quality or leaning unnecessary on latest trends.

Title track Gate To Mars launches in head first with it's militantly chopped up amen break & sinister technical elements, while switching things up with a deadly counter of sub bass & an apt vocal dialogue establishing a forward momentum. Meanwhile, Deception slides in next full of smoothly crafted funk & underlying mystery, with it's multiple reese lines, subterranean bass line & bubbling arpeggiated synth run to counteract the brooding narrative.

Fill The Blanks strikes next, with it's hard nosed break, plucked melodic stabs, and twisting counter of techy synth/bass lines & heavenly vocal lashings in order to ramp up the pace with persistent urgency. Anthemic final track Change Your Mind rounds off the release with it's triumphantly catchy vocal refrain, gritty break, squelching synth tweaks and growling bass line converging together in an assault of sonic severity best served dark and loud.
