Live And Let Die

In the spring of 2025, I bought the new Omnichord OM-108 and have been making music with it and my effects boxes.  So far, I’ve released an album, “Omniessence”, and I even made a one-off vinyl picture disc via Kunaki.  It’s my first vinyl record.

I have at least 20 additional Omnichord-based songs ready for future releases.  Two them are earmarked for my ad hoc soundtrack to the Oyoram pubic art installation in Des Moines.  “TimePiece” is an 800 sq ft, 162 LED panel, “clock” moving artwork, located on the side of the Fitch Building (304 15th Street), where my art studio is located.  If that kind of public art interests you, do a search for it.  My soundtrack will be broadcast via a 100mw FM mono transmitter to the nearby area, although I will distribute the soundtrack to Bandcamp and the streamers.

Because I already have an Omnichord, and I’m busy this weekend, I thought I’d skip the browser-based part of the Junto and provide a track that was recently completed:  Mr Bond’s Waltz.

“Mr Bond’s Waltz” was a 57 second section between a series of mistakes that ended up being too good to delete.  It was totally improvised and recorded live.  The Omnichord OM-108 was run through my physical effects chain of boxes:  Empress Reverb, Empress EchoSystem, and a Hologram Microcosm, and direct into a Tascam audio recorder.  Then editing in a simple audio editor.  That’s it.
