Jamie B is a record collector & DJ from the UK residing in Sydney, Australia. He's been collecting vinyl for over 3 decades with an eclectic range of influences including Punk, Dub, Hip Hop, Electro, Disco, House, Techno & everything in between.

In the early 90’s, Jamie fell in love with the sounds of Electro, UK Bleep & Bass & Detroit Techno. Inspired by DJ's such as Dave Clarke, Andrew Weatherall, Laurent Garnier & Jeff Mills, he began crafting his skills & playing gigs around London. Today his style still favours House, Techno & Electro sounds, with a strong focus on mixing things up & dropping curveballs to keep the dancefloor on its toes.
 
Alongside fellow crate digger, Raffi Irie Lovechild, Jamie hosts SOKA LOKA MOKI, a monthly night of eclectic sounds where you’ll hear the likes of Chaka Khan, Kraftwerk & Prince, rubbing shoulders with A Tribe Called Quest, Larry Heard & Moodymann.

I have been fortunate enough to grace the platters at lots of different clubs,  events and festivals up and down the country and Europe.  I co ran the legendary night "Shuffle" (which may come back one day).  I won the coveted "bedroom bedlam" mixtape award for Muzik magazine, residencies at the Cross, The Pool , Piranah's and 333 in London and was awarded the Percy Thrower Lifetime achievement award for services to the green plant.  I have played at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Kimberley, Orchard amongst  many others and more recenly a regular fixture at the Give ! festival for House of Honey.   These day's I can be found deep in stock pots working culinary magic for all kinds of people,  however you may still catch me behind the platters (that matter) as much as I can.  I love music with a captivating groove, a glowing warmth,  sincerity and emotion however it comes and still relish the opportunity to share my sounds manually through the medium we know as Vinyl.  As long as it's available I will continue to support it,  everything about it just works and I believe it helps strengthen our beloved scene.

Thanks for the listens.  The more a certain syle of mix gets listened to it inspires me to make new ones in that style.

I have to use my records to justify my obsessive vinyl buying and collecting habit.  If there is a dope track on vinyl, I might own it or chances are I am going to buy it, sooner or later lol.

I dabble a little and am a bit more selective in many genres: such as the weirder experimental side of techno, illbient, dub, 80's new wave and no wave, freetekno especially classic Network 23 records, breakcore, some techstep, some Krautrock, ambient, 80's Industrial, some art rock and post rock, classic 70's and early 80's b-boy breaks and turntabilism.  However my main obsessive focus lies mainly into old school electro and underground futuristic new school electro (Morphology, ERP, Versalife, Kan3da, Plant 43, 214, Analogical Force, CPU, AS1, Umwelt, AC records, Microlith, Armec, Sound Synthesis, Biochip, Illektrolab , Info, Lake Haze and many more), underground acid house (JTC - The Dancing Box and Creep Acid, 808 State Newbuild are some of my favorites), razor blade edits, Moog records, perverted comedy records, Bleeps and Breaks, 90-92 Hardcore techno and early rave tracks, smooth and sleek Detroit Style techno, electronic sound effect and obscure spoken word records and electronic listening music from the beginning to now..

As has been said by many others before, "There are 2 types of music, good music and bad music".

I have about 100 of my own tracks to finish, some are already done, some just need some fine tuning. I am going to use this channel mainly for Dj Mixes with a few of my own tracks on here as well.  Eventually they will get on my BandCamp, or even better, hopefully I will get something released on vinyl.
