The chord progression of this piece came to me suddenly one day right when I picked up my guitar, even though I had indented to start a different project. I went with this idea instead, and was pleasantly surprised by how everything fell into place.

Summer Song

I woke up one morning with the fresh memory of a dream where I heard the first 6 notes and 2 chords to this song. I wrote those down and developed the rest. The music sounded like an expression of my wife, Bobbie, so this piece is dedicated to her. To me it sounds like the beach, the ocean, like a vacation. I enjoyed employing Bossa Nova type harmony and non standard resolutions to take you on a little journey and gently guide you through unexpected turns. This is the first time that I used the Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet pedal to send my electric guitar sound straight to the audio interface, and I really like the results.

Bobbie's Song

One evening I came up with a few guitar themes, and decided to develop them and put them in a piece. As I listened to the partially completed project, I imagined scenes and vistas from around the city in which I live. I hope you enjoy the music and scenes from "Around Town".
