The GBHBL Whiplash - Episode 430: Interview: Mirjam and Jeroen of The Dirty Denims

Mona Keijzer (vice-premier in kabinet Stoof I ) heeft iets controversieels gezegd, en dus wordt ze - uiteraard - aangeklaagd. Op 17 mei 2024 schoof Keijzer aan bij de talkshow Sophie & Jeroen, waarin ze de uitspraak deed dat veel vluchtelingen uit landen komen waar jodenhaat onderdeel is van de cultuur. In deze aflevering analyseren we dat gesprek. We concluderen dat Mona Keijzer al vanaf het moment dat ze begon met spreken op een afkeurende manier werd aangekeken en behandeld, en dat haar woorden continu zodanig worden omgedraaid zodat ze passen in het beeld dat de andere mensen aan tafel (waaronder Arnon Grunberg) van haar hebben. Het is daarom geen oprecht gesprek over een belangrijk onderwerp geworden, maar een poging van de linkse tafelgasten om te laten zie hoe zij aan de goede kant van de geschiedenis staan. Dit is zonde, omdat juist gesprekken als deze zouden kunnen leiden tot meer begrip tussen verschillende groepen in de samenleving.

I’m incredibly grateful that I stumbled upon this amazing piece of music. For me, it’s nostalgic, moving, and inspiring all at once. It captivated me so much that it was stuck in my head for three days straight. Finally, this morning, I sat down to write music, and this is what came out.

By the way, I tried to re-record it and mix the sounds again, but it lost its magic and didn’t feel the same. So, in the end, I decided to use the original tracks, only making structural changes and amplifying what was already strong.
