Since our event in legendary Pikes is getting closer, it's a perfect time to start to promote this party with some great mixes from DJs who will play on the 12th of July so that you know what to expect from our but well-chosen company.
The first in a row for the Sunset Lovers is John Paynter a  DJ, producer, promoter, founder of Paisley Dark Records, and host of two monthly events, the Paisley Dark radio show where he showcases the very best and latest, psychedelic-infused electronic dance music, and his Paisley Dark residency at Outlaws Yacht Club in Leeds. 

From his youth, he has been an avid collector of vinyl and has been a passionate and knowledgeable music fan since the heady days of punk. His first gigs and introduction to live music were, The Ramones, The Clash, and The Buzzcocks, a love of which he still holds today. Many years later on a trip to Outlaws Yacht Club to see a “Chinwag,” with Andrew Weatherall, John began an unforeseen musical journey, that would see him share DJ booths with some of his musical heroes, including Andrew himself. It was at Outlaws he was invited by, long-time friend and Chinwag host, Chris Madden to play some tunes and so start his journey as a DJ.

John’s keen music sense and love of psychedelia, punk, funk, electro, and dub greatly helped him in gaining a well-deserved reputation as a live DJ. Offers from local promoters were quickly followed by a headline slot on the Perfumed Garden stage at Beat-Herder. The circle was completed with a 3-hour warm-up slot for Andrew at The Golden Lion, in Todmorden, at which The Guv’nor was said to be fishing for tunes John was playing. 

John’s production credits include remixes for BT Cop, Shunt Voltage, Japanese TV, Dan Wainwright, Steady State, Clandestino, From Beyond, Matt Gunn, and Future Unit.

Next up joining the Reframe we have Leeds based DJ/Producer and all round good guy John Paynter. Host of the monthly radio show “A Space Age Freak Out and head of Paisley Dark Record label trading in some of the finest electronic psychedelia.  
John has been an avid collector of vinyl for many years spanning a wide and varied range of genre, his signature sound taking influence from central strands of electronica, punk, funk and dub creations.

In recent years his focus has moved into production with remix work for artists including BT Cop, Shunt Voltage, Japanese Television, Steady State, Clandestino and From Beyond... John has taken a left turn to his usual dancefloor focussed sound and put together a summer infused selection closing out the last  hour and 45 of the show with the ReFrame opening up.
