Two of our label faves – @FinestWear & @JonDelerious – join forces across the Atlantic for a three-track ep that will leave you wanting more. Between the two producers they have nearly a dozen releases on Nordic Trax, and we’re excited to welcome them back with these gorgeous trax.

Having first collaborated on an ep for Chicago’s legendary Large Music in 2017, and following it up with several remixes of each other’s works, the two underground house producers are back in the studio and bringing the heat on To The Bounce.

Blurring the lines between deep house, techno and garage in his productions, Finest Wear is the production moniker of London producer & deejay Cenzo Scoglio. Past Finest Wear releases on NT have been supported by the likes of Crackazat, Joris Voorn, Shur-I-Kan, Jamie Jones, DJ T, Radio Slave, Franck Roger, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Claptone and many more.

A native of Calgary, Jon Delerious is a regular on the Western Canadian music scene. His 2018 release Let’s Work [NT094] was his best-selling release on the label after 20 years on the scene! The title track reached the deep house Top 20 on Beatport and Traxsource and received widespread support from the likes of Groove Armada, Nick Warren, Kyodai, Jamie Trench, Pawas, Rob Da Bank, Kid Enigma, The Revenge, Giom and Danny Tenaglia among others.

Calgary's own Jon Delerious makes his Worship Recordings label debut with a bouncy Dub House jam entitled ‘Sound Box’, which comes complete with a remix from Hipp-E and Rob Paine.

Jon Delerious has been a stalwart of Canada’s thriving House music scene since the 90s, with previous releases on imprints such as Nordic Trax and  Large Music releases championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson and Laurent Garnier. Boasting low end rumble that will surely cause even the tightest trousers to flap, ’Sound Box’ is simply a good honest House groove, featuring dub sirens and dancehall vibes galore.

“I’ve always had a love of Dub and reggae music, and I knew I wanted to make a dub heavy roller of a track” says Delerious. “It’s all about the groove and the big bass line on this one, it definitely delivers on a big sound system, hence the title of the track.”

For the remix, Worship Recordings founder Rob Paine linked up with longtime friend Hipp-E in Denver, where the pair got busy in the studio raising the tempo and summoning up a true head-down, late night rolling Dub/Tech riddim, primed to do serious damage on the dancefloor.

Celebrating his 30th year in the music biz in 2023, Hipp-E expands a little about the the release: “I loved the Dub vibe on the original track, and felt we took it straight to the warehouse on this mix, utilizing some chuggy beats and heavy bass. Grateful for the relationship with Rob and Worship Records, and Cyaaant wait to see this hit the dance floor!”

“I couldn’t be more stoked for the Remix by Rob and Hipp-e” says Jon “I’m a huge fan of Hipp-e’s music and have been playing his records forever. H-Foundation / Hipp-E is a legend!”

As Rob Paine puts it, “I was less than halfway through listening ‘Sound Box’ and I already knew this was going to be the next Worship release. Jon absolutely crushed this one! Eric (Hipp-E) and I finally made some time to work together again, after talking about it for way too long. Just like my first listening experience, Eric was hooked immediately and we jumped right into this one. I am super happy with the way it came out. And with my recent road test of it, I think a lot of dance floors across the world will be happy as well.”

The always-funky Jon Delerious returns to Nordic Trax with a new bag of heat! On his first solo release for the label since 2021’s Can’t Hold Back, the Canadian producer digs deep with a four-track ep of future funk for the dancefloor. 

The ep opens with the bumpty, acid-funk of Virtual Love -- a delightful slab of West Coast house for fans of LawnChair Generals and Siesta Records. Next up is the breezy, summertime vibe of mid-tempo jam Soul Clap Revisted. An instant classic, lay back and let the groove do the work. 

On the title track Jon returns to his deep house roots with a dubby excursion into to the Deepest Hour. A dancefloor groover with an understated vibe – hold tight, we’re going deep! Finally on Fever Crystal, the Calgary producer gets his rave on with another trip into classic West Coast house territory – a dubbed-out journey over slammin’ beats.

I've been DJing for over a decade now, and have been lucky to play a diverse range of events, set times, genres and crowds. I'm in it for the music, and the smile on people's face when a tune gets dropped that they didn't expect and gets em dancing. I love a boogie behind the decks just as much too!
