Droid9 Weekend Showcase 036 - Juan Arce

Welcome to the episode 64 of ZZGO Radio!

I just got back from the big regional Burning Man event near Austin, Texas called Burning Flipside.  I'm the stage and sound lead for the large sound camp Cosmic Creatures.  I also brought my large projection mapped dome art project to the camp as well.  Overall it was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun!  I added a new BassBoss VS-21 sub to our stage this year, and it really rounded out our sound and gave us some oomph we've been missing.  I really focus on good, clean sound, and our sound system delivered whether people were playing bass music, house music, or just chillout lounge music.  I can't wait to give the system another run.

As for music, this episode is a live recording from one of my sets.  I played a lot of different styles of music across the event, including progressive and melodic house, trance, 90s acid house, and more.  This recording is from a progressive and melodic set that I'm going to dedicate to all the Cosmic Creatures out there, official or not!

His beginnings in electronic music date back to 1990, the year the English band Depeche Mode released Violator, an album that would mark a turning point in his musical tastes.

By the age of 16, he was already spinning vinyls on Technics SL-1200 mk2 turntables. His passion for exquisite dance music led him to become the resident DJ @ Nican, a nightclub in his hometown.

His current playlists of deep and organic house at low tempos are ideal for informal events on rooftops and at beach clubs, creating magical moments with countless unofficial remixes of well-known artists, perfect for painting sunsets with memories. His smooth mixes, with long and elegant loops, make his sets a truly enjoyable listening experience.

After his performance at the Closing Party @ Monkey Beach Club Ibiza in October 2023, and his more than 70 sets as resident DJ in Lloret de Mar (GI), in April 2025 he releases his podcast Forever Lost every Monday and Thursday, a show focused in the newest progressive house music.

In July 2025 he starts as resident DJ on Cross Land Music, a recognized spanish label releasing fresh deep house. His new show Moments is aired every Tuesday at 5pm CET on www.crosslandmusic.com

Constantly evolving as a professional DJ, he has performed at Ruta N2, FlyClub, Room9 and The Supermercat, where he recently presented his Lost! Barcelona party.
