This sermon was delivered by Pastor Cory Klein at New Hope Church of Oxford on October 26, 2025.  The text of Scripture is James 2:1-13.

James 2:1-13 - Mercy Triumphs Over Judgment

A prophetic cry to a nation that has lost its mercy, “Woe to the Nation” thunders like scripture come to life. This song calls out pride, greed, and spiritual blindness while pleading for repentance and compassion. It’s a warning and a prayer, a voice crying out in the storm, declaring that a nation without love stands on the edge of its own downfall.

Woe to the Nation

Gossip may seem harmless, but Scripture reveals it as a heart issue that destroys trust, divides community, and dishonors God. When our words tear others down, we step out of step with the Spirit. God calls us to use our words to heal, not to harm.

The reason for joy - Luke 10.1-24

This poem is a powerful act of self-reflection and humility. The author observes how people constantly intrude into the lives, thoughts, and emotions of others — judging, advising, and condemning — while rarely taking time to understand themselves.

Through irony and confession, the narrator admits his own guilt: the tendency to judge others without the right or the wisdom to do so. The poem contrasts human curiosity about others’ “souls” with the neglect of one’s own inner world.

In the final lines, the poet turns toward repentance and faith, acknowledging that only God has the authority to judge. True understanding, he concludes, comes not from examining others, but from looking deeply into one’s own soul — at any cost.

Isaiah 8:1-4 stands as a solemn reminder: God still speaks clearly, but His people must be willing to listen, record, and respond. The written Word of God, the Scriptures, remains His permanent revelation, etched in human language for eternal impact. The clarity of His warnings and promises leaves humanity without excuse. As Isaiah’s generation discovered, to disregard what God has clearly written is to invite the very judgment He sought to prevent.	As this passage unfolds, believers are called to consider the weight of God’s Word, not as a distant echo, but as a present command: Write it down. Remember it. Believe it. Live by it. God’s warnings are not meant to alarm for the sake of fear, but to awaken hearts to faith, obedience, and trust in the One whose Word never fails.

Born: April 9, 1980 — Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

DJ Denis Lop began his career in 1997 at Club “Spice” in Haifa, quickly becoming its resident from 1997–1998. His energetic style and unique musical taste led him to perform across numerous Israeli clubs throughout the late ’90s and early 2000s.

From 2001 to 2002, he served as a resident DJ at Club “Armageddon” (Karmiel), and from 2003 to 2004 — at Club “Spider” (Haifa).
Over the years, he played in many well-known venues, including:

Moving to Canada marked a new creative chapter, inspiring him to continue making music, crafting new remixes, and performing in local clubs with a renewed sound and a distinctly Canadian groove.
