Got home, got bored, wanted to test a theory. My friends say I play better when I don’t plan my mix… This mix wasn’t supposed to see the light of day but I seem to have proved their theory correct. Soo I decided to post this to SoundCloud for your enjoyment! August marks 11 months of DJing for me and I can’t even begin to express how much joy it has brought me seeing my style and skills progress. I’m overwhelmingly grateful for music’s place in my life and I hope these 22 minutes of tunes bring joy to your day. Dance on❤️❤️

From the early 90s, free parties and pirate radio shaped UK electronic music. Jungle combined breaks with heavy basslines inspired by Jamaican sound-system culture. Meanwhile grime fused hip hop with electronic music over the distinguished 140bpm. UK happy hardcore pushed limits with euphoric piano riffs & rave stabs over the classic sped-up breakbeat, giving this sub-genre of hardcore a unique British flavour.

Having previously released under the aliases Gav Ley & dYstance, predominantly on the mighty but now defunct Top Drawer Digital label, Q Club is a continuation and extension of my previous works.

Still heavily influenced by the rave and dance music sounds of the late 80s to early 00s, the aim of this project is to expand on that by essentially, releasing whatever I feel like, not bound to a single genre or scene. It is also home to previously unreleased works that would otherwise just gather dust.

I am a huge advocate for dynamic range in dance and rave music, feeling that excess of the opposite can destroy the soul of a track, and can be quite fatiguing on the ears, thus, a lot of future projects may not be cold, clipped, brick-wall affairs. I do, however, feel that "loudness" can have a place dependant on the mood of a piece.

I do not use social media and my passion is for creating music, not marketing, so this is the source for everything I create. if you enjoy it, feel free to give it some love, share it and leave feedback.

I do this for the love of creation so most of my stuff is free to download and play. Remix packs/stems can sometimes be made available on request.
