Think again or not at all

I’ve been experimenting further with re-tuning everything I own into Carnatic scales and using chance operations in my sequencing to control slides, accents and reverb and delay sends.

I used to use maxmsp to retune synths using midi guitar mode and pitch bend on each channel with a snazzy custom patch I built but now oddsound just does it all for me. I think they built weird scales into live itself now but oddsound MTS does it better. I've become slightly obsessed with the bhairavi raga scales, they're dreamy. 

Is anyone else really suffering with live 12? It crashes all the time for me when any project reaches over a few tracks in size...

While I love the original for its powerful lyrics and message, this version is a pure tribute to its musical core. The track is reimagined as an instrumental, built entirely around the real star of the show: the massive, powerful, and iconic bass sound of the Juno-60.

This is a Sunwave reinterpretation driven by that incredible, galloping low-end.

Marol is a musician, producer and songwriter born in 1982 in a small village in northern Sweden.

He started playing guitar at the age of eight, learning mostly through family rather than formal lessons. Music quickly became a space for curiosity and experimentation. At ten, he received an Amiga 1200 and discovered a simple music program that allowed him to create tracks using samples. From there, his world expanded.

Early influences ranged from Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails to reggae and pop acts like Ace of Base. Recording ideas on cassette tape, Marol began shaping his own sound long before finding a studio. Piano and synthesizers were always close by — his grandparents’ piano and a cousin’s synths became playgrounds for sound and intuition.

In the 1990s, with access to workstations and software like Cubase and Logic, he focused heavily on electronic music. At 21, his track Northern Lights was played on local radio — a quiet milestone that encouraged him to keep going.

Later, his path crossed with musicians from the grindcore and metal scene. Electronic elements met heavy guitars and guttural vocals, forming the band Zophrania, where contrasts became collaboration. When the band dissolved, Marol moved to Norway, set up a home studio, and continued creating independently.

Between 2020 and 2022, new technology opened a simpler, more direct workflow. It allowed him to work closer to instinct — faster, freer, and more aligned with his ideas and emotions. His music remained his own, but without the need to slow down or compromise the creative process.

Today, Marol’s work is fluid and exploratory. He moves between genres without attachment, always experimenting, always in motion. Music is deeply personal to him — he only produces what feels honest and real in the moment.

Recently relocating to Vienna, what began as a short visit turned into a new chapter. The city sparked fresh inspiration, and he decided to stay. Alongside music, Marol now also creates music videos, a long-standing passion that has found new life.
