And while the Justice League was mostly comedy, the Squad is not. We read three very different versions of the Squad in a story where Amanda Waller shows her metal, the New 52 origin of Harley Quinn and a Rebirth event where the Suicide Squad faces a Justice League that has moved past the Bwah-Ha-Ha era.

In 2017 Zack Snyder stepped down from directing the "Justice League" film in the wake of personal tragedy. After Joss Whedon stepped in to "fix" the film - resulting in a critical drubbing and a box office bomb, as well as multiple problematic behind-the-scenes stories - vast sections of social media demanded Snyder be allowed to return and release his unaltered cinematic vision for DC's premier superhero team.

On the back of this fan pressure - including some highly toxic voices within it - Zack Snyder's Justice League was released in all its four-hour, desaturated, Knightmare-ending glory in 2021. Three years later, the Slice of Cherry Guys see whether Snyder's vision holds up (short answer: very yes). Chris laments the loss of Batffleck, Dave argues that the four hour runtime works gangbusters, and both agree that Darkseid, the would-be Thanos of the DCEU played by Ray Porter, is *really* freaking good.

No Ordinary Love

(from September 2023) The Flash movie is fun, fast, weird and unbalanced. Keaton's Batman shines in every scene, same with Supergirl. Two Barrys unfortunately don't make a right! There's alot of good stuff in this movie but in this episode I break down what didn't work. Sadly, a massive box office flop costing the studio more or less $200 million dollars. Perhaps if this came out right after 2016s "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and just before Whedon's "Justice League" (2017) - it would have fared better.

Review of The Flash (2023) - YGTRD podcast #25

(from June 2023) I got confused and mixed up in regards to the multiverse and time travel in this movie but didn't delete that stuff because I think it's still interesting. I cannot wait to see this movie, honestly if it were only the two Barrys... I would have no interest. Thrilled General Zod is back, and I think Barry will have to go back and undo what he did and may not even return to the same timeline as before, as any alteration could impact the future. I don't know if this chapter can save the DCEU but I hope to cheer at the end for a great ride! The action looks amazing, tons of great characters, and a compelling story for each character.
