As I approach my 67th birthday, I once again go through old tapes and old photos. Seldom when I go through the old audio tapes of years gone by, am I ever riveted by a recording as with this one. This was Liquid Sunshine (#2) 1976, an attempt to replace the magic of the old Liquid Sunshine of yore. Though we all never became the eternal friends as it once was in the original Liquid Sunshine ... this was a truly decent band. We worked steady and we had a great sound.

Me, Bobby Andriulli on bass and vocals (of the original Liquid Sunshine) Joey Miranda on drums and Denny Miller on guitar. 

I learned a LOT of guitar from Denny!

I doubt many of you will remember the “Dial Tone” chain in Connecticut. (was it a chain?) Where each table or booth was numbered and had a telephone sitting there connected to a main switchboard system in the club. To ask someone to dance or for a chat you ... dialed them up!

Kind of a great gag. 

It was a slow night that night at the Dial Tone in Seymour Connecticut. Hardly anyone was there. But we had a BLAST! We performed as if we were at Wembley! To boot ... it was Denny’s birthday, which lead to a hilarious onstage laughing hysteria! 

What amazes me about this recording is ... well first of all ... the recording itself! Mixed live onto stereo reel-to-reel by 5th Liquid Sunshiner Sam Eurich. It was a miracle of a recording ... almost perfect studio quality. On top of this ... we gave our all.  

Now that I am in my later years ... I hear how much I used to use the voice during these performances. (I was 19 at the time ... almost 20) The massive amount of singing ... the endurance ... is truly something. And this is not the FULL recording!!!! Over an hour is missing!

Anyway ... some songs in our repertoire at this time are not heard ANYWHERE anymore. Especially impressive (because they were so damned DIFFICULT to cover) are the two “Average white band” songs! On the first one, the tape ran out ... as tape had a tendency to do! 
You younger folks have NO IDEA!

This ended up being a great concert. Some really fun and great songs from this time period to be heard! Hope you enjoy!

I am sincerely thrilled at the response for the “Liquid Sunshine Dial tone 1976” recording! Guess a bunch of us truly remember that period of our lives!
For this reason, I decided to go against my better judgement and include the missing tracks from the evening. NOT that they are bad, or inferior, or something ... it’s just that ... one has to remember ... it was Denny’s birthday and one “partook” in the raising of a beverage or two! We ah ... partied pretty hardy. We started to get silly (and inventive) making all sorts of musical jokes and even changing the words intentionally to songs ... (see if you can catch them!)
If you listened to the first version till the end (Beatle Set) Just forward past that!
