The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Paulitcal. "Forward Mentality(Keepsakes Remix)" comes off the new EP of the same name forthcoming on Still Distant Records. Scottish born, Copenhagen based label head Paulitical releases the first SDR EP of 2025 which is a bit of a side step in sound to Paulitical’s usual industrial harsh sounds. It captures more of a loopy side of hypnotic and deep techno with solid drums. It comes with an outro break track of the title of the EP, forward mentality. It also has a remix of the outro track from Kiwi producer Keepsakes who is known for his work on Kaos, Perc Trax and his own label Haven.

BRVTAL has taken a new direction in its sonic journey, moving beyond its early sound to embrace the raw mystique of proper techno. This shift has already been reflected in recent digital releases, but BRV007 marks the first vinyl of this new era, a powerful compilation uniting top-tier international and Hungarian producers. 

The record features the driving force of Italy’s Alarico, the relentless energy of Croatia’s Insolate, and the raw intensity of New Zealand’s Keepsakes, who already collaborated with BRVTAL in other ways. Joining them are Spain-born techno heavyweight P.E.A.R.L., alongside Hungary’s own CVRDWELL and the fierce alliance of Indirect Movement & AGA2L. 

This is BRVTAL’s boldest statement yet, uncompromising techno, pressed to wax.

From merciless techno bangers to caustic track titles that will absolutely shred your preconceived notions about the world and sneer at them as they writhe bleeding on the cold, hard ground, this release validates our label’s OCD-level commitment to living on the edge of something at all times.

The title track doubles as a massive forest rave bomb AND the No. 1 battle weapon for opening DJs looking to fuck over the headliner, while “Bongo Funeral” reimagines tribal techno as the chief export of a village ruled by emotionally unavailable gremlins. Next, “Snacks at Waco” makes skillful use of a hammering industrial beat to hammer home the importance of loyalty and community, and “Parasocially There for You” deftly soundtracks anxiety dreams about meeting your favorite podcaster. Finally, closer “Nimby Orgy” likely represents the very first sexual aftercare banger. NOTE: we’ve heard bad things about both NIMBYs and YIMBYs, and as such have adopted a militantly neutral position on the matter of who is f-ing and s-ing in our backyard. 

Given that Keepsakes is a vinyl-only DJ, we’ve done him the courtesy of making this release available both on vinyl and digitally. While this would have been an incredible opportunity to completely shut him out of playing his own tracks, we decided that this would be unfair to the music itself. Because at the end of the day, Turbo takes its marching orders from Harmony, Melody, Rhythm, and Timbre, and to betray even one of our ethereal masters would be tantamount to kicking our own vision square in the nuts. IOW: ain’t never gonna happen.

✈ To celebrate this new episode, we are proud and delighted to welcome British-New Zealand DJ, producer : KEEPSAKES

Keepsakes, the alias of British-New Zealand producer and DJ James Barrett, has been a strong and distinctive voice in techno since rising to fame through his Stygian Concrete Works and Weapons Grade Manic EPs back in 2014. Since then he has showcased his powerful and menacing, yet often cheeky and playful, productions on influential labels including Boys Noize Records, Turbo Recordings, KAOS/OAKS, Perc Trax, South London Analogue Material, MORD, and Earwiggle.

Furthermore, he founded the Haven club night alongside Jaded Nineties Raver in Tāmaki Maraukau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand) in 2015 - aiming to introduce clubbers to the experimental and harder side of techno in a city completely devoid of this music. In 2018 Haven also expanded into a vinyl-focused record label - going on to release many leading international artists including VTSS, Tommy Holohan, New Frames, Peder Mannerfelt, Ayarcana, Ansome, and Ryan James Ford, as well as becoming the main home for Barrett’s own productions.

Now located in Ōtautahi, Aotearoa (Christchurch, New Zealand) - following several years living in Berlin hitting the European club circuit - he is focused on bringing his tough and eclectic sound to dance floors worldwide, with regular appearances at international techno institutions providing a platform for his formidable DJ sets.

JasonP is a Trance DJ formally from Wales (UK) and now resides in Adelaide, South Australia.
Jason’s passion for trance began when he first heard the track Flaming June by BT.  From then on, he was a regular clubber in the UK during the “Golden Era” for Trance Music.  
After quite a few years away from the scene Jason has reignited his passion for trance music.  
He is a monthly podcast resident for the Aerodynamica trance label.
He streams monthly for an online trance radio station called Fusion UK.
Jason will also be releasing a new monthly show called ON POINT TRANCE where he will be inviting DJ's from all around the world to submit a 1 hour mix for the show.
Although he has never played live in a club or to a crowd it has always been his dream that he would 1 day get the opportunity.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. DJ Proton from Cologne is providing his interpretation of underground Techno to the scene for over 25 years already. He is not a Top Ten jukebox, but a man on a mission. His sets are hard, forward driving, but never predictable.  

Proton played numerous illegal raves at undisclosed off-locations throughout Europe, as well as Club gigs in Barcelona, Berlin, Belfast, Budapest, Helsinki, Krakow, Katowice, London, Rome and Vilnius. He is always curious for the vibes of a new crowd and eager to share an amazing time and lots of love together.
