Having first appeared as far back as 1992, Red Planet Records was set up as one of U.R.’s sublabel / offshoots and ran until 2010. Only clocking up only 14 releases in the process, sometimes there is something to be said for the maxim “less is more”. Not to take away from the fantastically rich discography and the many incredible releases on U.R. itself. Red Planet is just one of those golden threaded series that when you pick up and examine in closer details, almost seems to be greater than the sum of its parts. There’s something both otherworldly and deeply enchanting about the series that makes each and every release a gem in it’s own right.

Made In Wonderland...

My music clearly stems from my fascination with the cosmos, but my own musical journey of discovery is actually the most important source of inspiration. I have an uncontrollable urge to make music, and the thought of ever having to stop makes me anxious and uneasy. It's almost entirely involuntary. When I immerse myself in the process of making music, I can truly fall into a trance and lose track of time; sometimes hours have passed even though it feels like minutes. I see it as a kind of personal meditation, purging myself of stress. I couldn't live without it.

Mijn muziek komt duidelijk voort uit mijn fascinatie voor de kosmos, maar mijn eigen muzikale ontdekkingsreis is eigenlijk de belangrijkste inspiratiebron. Ik heb een oncontroleerbare drang om muziek te maken, en de gedachte dat ik er ooit mee moet stoppen, maakt me angstig en ongemakkelijk. Het is bijna geheel onvrijwillig. Als ik mezelf onderdompel in het proces van het maken van muziek, kan ik echt in trance raken en heb ik geen besef meer van tijd, soms zijn er enkele uren verstreken ook al voelt het als minuten. Ik zie het als een soort persoonlijke meditatie, mezelf zuiveren van stress. Ik zou niet meer zonder kunnen.

Dankjewel voor het lezen en zelfs misschien het volgen van mijn muzikanten bestaan…
