Drawing on themes from my PhD research, "Netscape: Cities and Global Corporate Networks" https://repub.eur.nl/pub/16013/ , the song "Network Inequality" emerges as a powerful sonic exploration of the disparities within global economic systems. The track uses an AI voice as a detached narrator, delivering terms like "asymmetric system," "network of a network," and "inequality of the economic network," among others. These terms are interspersed with graph theory measures such as "indegree," "outdegree," and "centrality," effectively mapping the intricate flows of capital and power as if in real time.

The song's progression mirrors the ebb and flow of financial markets, with the music intensifying to represent the volatile dynamics of economic systems. A poignant moment arrives during the bridge when a deep male voice cuts through the mix, intoning "Babylon lovers are Babylon lovers"—a direct invocation of the Rastafarian concept of Babylon. This oppressive system symbolizes economic exploitation and inequality, contrasting starkly with the cold, mechanical voice of the AI. This human element, raw and soulful, underscores the human cost hidden beneath economic abstractions.

Female voices whisper chants that grow increasingly louder and impassioned, intertwining with the AI’s stark recitations. The culmination is a crescendo where detached technological articulations and defiant human responses clash, plunging the listener into the chaotic soundscape that represents the network itself.

Beyond its lyrical depth, "Network Inequality" is a testament to the innovation in contemporary electronic music, blending psytrance, experimental electronic, retrosynth, and nudisco. The track channels the energetic, modernized psytrance reminiscent of Vini Vici, enriched by the melodic layers akin to Astrix, and pulsates with a rhythmic base that propels it forward. Cosmic synths and expansive soundscapes, influenced by Electric Universe, give the track a celestial quality.

Retrosynth elements recall the nostalgic vibes of Klopfgeister, merging a retro aesthetic with modern sensibilities. The inclusion of nudisco adds a groovy, danceable dimension that mirrors the lighter, playful elements found in Neelix’s genre-blending productions. "Network Inequality" is not just a musical piece but a narrative collage, paying homage to avant-garde influences like Shpongle and Ritmo, who push the boundaries of their genres.

This track is not merely a collection of influences but a cohesive narrative that challenges listeners to question the underpinnings of our global economy. It is a compelling encounter for both psytrance aficionados and those new to the genre, drawn by its eclectic and innovative appeal. The repeating mantra, "Babylon lovers, are Babylon lovers," inspired by The Slits’ "Love Und Romance," serves as a resonant reminder of the ongoing struggle against systemic economic inequalities.

Network Inequality

Hatikwa had been planning to reinterpret an old, beloved remix for a long time. But he didn't really dare. Now, however, the time was right for an extended version of "Good Bye Goa" by Klopfgeister. Perhaps not a floor hit in the true sense of the word and, compared to today, much too long. Perhaps it was produced very selfishly and is not compatible with today's fast-moving times... none of it matters! For Hatikwa, it is a small piece of music from his heart. Every note is intended as it is and should stay that way. Simple music that is looking for a place to be heard.

WALL is a musician and urbanist who started making music in 2023. Fabian Anders, geboren am 12. August 1988, hat sich in der Psytrance-Szene einen Namen gemacht. Unter dem Künstlernamen "Kickpsyclon" produziert er seit einigen Jahren Musik in den Genres Psytrance, Dark Psytrance, Goa und Psychedelic Trance. Seine Tracks sind bekannt für ihre Intensität und variieren im Tempo zwischen 145 und 256 BPM.Ein selten weniger ....wesentliches Merkmal von Fabians Musik ist die technische Präzision. Er verbringt unzählige Stunden im Studio, um den perfekten Sound zu kreieren. 

Dabei arbeitet er ausschließlich mit der Produktionssoftware Fruity Loops, auch bekannt als FL Studio. Diese Software bietet ihm die nötigen Werkzeuge, um einzigartige Klänge zu erzeugen und seine kreativen Ideen umzusetzen. 

Fabians Hingabe zur Detailgenauigkeit spiegelt sich in der hohen Qualität seiner Produktionen wider. Jede Veröffentlichung von Kickpsyclon setzt neue Maßstäbe und inspiriert andere Künstler in der Szene.

Trotz der Herausforderungen und Pausen in seiner musikalischen Laufbahn bleibt Fabian Anders eine feste Größe in der Psytrance-Szene. With a high and wide interest of music since youth,burning cd´s for homepartie,writing lyrics to beats and so on, he first came in contact with djíng thru a relative that used VTT-Virtual Turntable on his pc with an old Numark around 1996. Then he got his first gig on a youth venue and that was it. Went to his first open air around 2002,and started playing around 2003. Bought his first cdj´s Denon DN-2000F and the ride was on.
Hosted clubs and started organising he´s own parties and played between 2003-2014

With bookings like Shiva Chandra, Meller,Tryptamoon,Querox,
Connex,
Etnoscope,Pusherstreet,Mantra Flow and Synthax,AliceDJoanna and so on he have built a foundation of heaviness, happiness and joyfulness like Nokia, connecting people. 

Now(2025) when he is fully activated in music once again after doing "life stuff" like children and so on. 
He just want to keep spreading the vibe and trying to catch every second of every moment to make the path a good one, with music as a foundation and inspiration.

Electric alter-ego Shock Wave was born from the creative divide in Tiago Silva’s style, after years of playing all his favourite genres under one project. The powerful psy-trance energy needed space to evolve, and in May 2015 Shockwave hit the underground scene, playing at clubs, parties and doofs in Brazil.

Shock Wave delivers unforgettable full-on psy-trance sets, creating an atmosphere for a spiritual journey, With uplifting melodies and tracks rich with futuristic layers and motivational vocals.

His infectious energy and high vibes prove he is here for one thing: the love of music. Shock Wave believes music is medicine and creates an experience that can be felt by every being, whether a psy-trance veteran or a first-timer.

In 2017 & 2019 Shock Wave played at the huge Brazilian festival Carpe Diem alongside Mystical Complex, Royal Flush, Paranormal Attack, DJ Moon, GroundBasss, Hyperception, Azax, Burn In Noise and Labirinto. And in 2018, he played at major trance festival Revellion Trance.

In Australia, Shock Wave has graced The Social Bondi with his epic sets for Pixel, The Bridge Hotel for Geometric Sound, and plays regularly for Season X, also at the Bridge Hotel. He played alongside Ryanosauros at the music festival Three Dimensions in 2019. in 2022 Shock Wave headlined the Tropical UV Doof in Noosa in April & again in August.

In 2023, he opened the main stage at Zenith Gathering, sharing the stage with psy-trance legends Ajja, Avalon, Captain Hook, Antimony & Outsiders.

In 2024, Shock Wave headlined the Eye In The Sky pt1 by the infamous crews High Vibes HQ and Jungle Juice Records in Noosa hinterland, shared the stage with Jacob, Kodiak kid.

Clearing space, getting rid of clutter, and optimizing the flow of energies: These are the principles of Feng Shui, but it’s also a very precise description of the sound of Hatikwa. The producer from North Germany gained popularity for his minimalist approach towards Progressive Trance, an approach that might take different directions but that always proves to have compelling hypnotic powers.

Hatikwa is one of those artists who reached a career breakthrough via Social Media. It is 2009 when he plays his debut live act at Hamburg’s Lonely Forest Project, and this experience is such a rich source of inspiration that he creates a track and names it after that party. Once uploaded on YouTube, "Lonely Forest" spreads rapidly and within no time the name Hatikwa is on the lips and on the Facebook profiles of Progressive Trance fans all over the world. Working with the netlabel Multiplex Records at the time multiplies the viral distribution of his music. After releasing some single tracks and digital EPs he drops his debut album "Point of View" on Magical Sounds Records in 2013, a step that puts him even higher on the agenda – especially in the Progressive Trance hotspots Denmark, Germany and Switzerland where Hatikwa has a solid fanbase. 

In 2015, Hatikwa decided to stand on his own two feet completely - Xonica Records was born. Xonica Records was launched to open a dimension of sound that can't be achieved by any piece of studio equipment: Creative Freedom! Xonica Records is an autonomous platform for Hatikwa, a portal that enables him to keep up his truly eclectic and independent approach towards modern Trance music. In 2017, he created his second album "The Second Narration" and released it on his own label Xonica Records - a true milestone for him and his career. 

When it comes to production Hatikwa is extremely detail oriented. Sometimes it takes him months to finish a track because he’s just not quite satisfied with a single element. Like the music itself, this approach represents his signature style: Less is more, and quality surpasses quantity. Hatikwa knows exactly that a single sound can trigger the most profound emotions if it’s only in perfect tune, and if it only has enough space to unfold its unique vibration. Just like a spatial environment that has been designed in accordance with the priciples of Feng Shui, his sound creates an intense feeling of flowing harmony and effortless power – a highly energizing listening experience that can best be described as deeply psychedelic.

DJ bin ich seit 2018, der elektronischen Musik wohne ich aber schon länger bei. Hauptsächlich bin ich für Psytrance / Goa / Forest zu haben, aber das ist alles sehr stimmungsabhängig bei mir.
