This year is the 3rd year of surfing through different musical spheres, scenes of different cities from around the world and different digital platforms. Despite the circumstances in which we find ourselves, this year we have decided to discover the „digital-audio-stream-world„ and continue to share positivity, whilst maintaining our family vibes with global and local artists.

Kasheme started with the passion for music - and everything around it, community and
creativity. Inspired by music, we began to think about how to share this passion with others.
Inspire and expand the community by making it always inclusive rather than exclusive.

A little dream came true when I got asked to play at Kasheme Zürich. It's one of my most favorite bars/recordstores in town and they always have a superbe line up.

Expect something different here because it was a bar/livingroom session. A bit more slow, a bit more funky and groovy.

Third Black and White Session with one of the true culture activists of Zurich, also partner of Kasheme, GRAU. He has been walking along different music streams, genres, movements. From being part of the punk rock scene in 80’s, singing for the Zurich band called “Fleich” to funk, disco, hip – hop, reggae, till today’s new age music. Following his passion for music he decided to stay true to himself.

Fourth Black and White Session with FRAGMENT. He is a fervent militant of underground who shaped the swiss electronic music scene. After being internationally recognized for his philosophy and taste of minimal music as the master behind the well-known label “Bruchstücke” (1999-2006), he has decided to align with the new jazz scene. Open minded, curious and always in quest for new artists and Tunes.

Fifth Black and White Session with Big Love (he really means it). In the last few years, the Zurich scene has been enriched with new soulful selectors. One of them is Alain aka Dj Big Love. A descendent of a funk, soul family, he has been combining music and fashion by hosting a series of dj sets called The Right Stuff Music in his family affair clothing store Out Wear.

Sixt Black and White Session with FreeJ Rumi. Founder of the successful collective Soul Rebels, also partner in Kasheme, will play records on Saturday night. The famous Willisau jazz festival, where he worked as a kid, made him familiar with the international and local jazz scene. Furthermore, he embraced many other music genres and scenes like the broken beat in Bristol, hip hop and trip hop.

Eighth Black and White Session with PAT (Zulu Nation / Soul Rebels).
“I’ve fallen in love with hip hop in the late eighties, broadened my musical horizon ever since ...I’m passionate about soulful music, addicted to digging for records and love to play warm grooves from all over the globe”, these are the words of Patrick Sigrist. Pat, for over 20 years has been involved in the hip hop scene organizing events and festivals like Royal Arena , keeping the value of the culture alive. He also organizes dance events, hosts lectures, writes about music culture in a number of publications and is part of the successful collective Soul Rebels.

Kasheme is a project born out of passion for music in its broadest sense, from nature soundscapes to synthesised sounds and everything in between.
Based in Zurich and created by a group of people from various walks of life and cultures, Kasheme naturally stands for conscious listening. Any music genre from anywhere in the world deserves emotional attention.

Aus Liebe zur Musik, der Partykultur und dessen Menschen entstand der Gedanke, ein eigenes Projekt zu entwickeln. Inspiriert durch den kleinen Freizeitraum in der Nähe von Baden, kam die Idee SMALL ROOM.

Ein kleiner Raum wo man neue und alte Freunde trifft, in freier Gestaltung und einer musikalischen Vielfalt.

Was uns dieses selbst erbaute Wohnzimmer ermöglicht, wollen wir mit unseren Freunden und Gästen an verschieden Lokalitäten teilen.

Mit unseren Veranstaltungen und Podcasts, wollen wir lokale und kleine Geschäfte unterstützen und neuen so wie alt bekannten Musikern eine Plattform bieten. Das Ganze nach dem Motto: SMALL BUT NICE!

“Looking back at more than 20 years of nightlife, I wouldn’t want to miss anything I’ve experienced, because it got me to where I am right now. I have traveled trough different styles – house, break beats, drum and bass, techno..., because music has no boundaries.”

As a daughter of a Swiss mother and a Ghanaian father, Ajele was born and raised in Switzerland, where, at the age of eighteen, she got introduced to the electronic music scene and realised there were hardly any female DJs. Now that was something she strived to change! The decision was made and the first records, decks and a mixer where bought. Vinyl shopping became an addiction and playing them a passion. Since 1996 she’s an inherent part of Zurich’s electronic music scene.

Her versatile and solid music style has given her many opportunities to open the night. Warming up the floor is her strength!

Roman alias Spanks was born and raised in Berlin and has been standing behind the decks for 14 years now. Roman has a wide range of musical influences, his mixes are something between House, Disco and Funk. With his DJ sets he regularly leaves behind an enthusiastic audience that appreciates his playful varieties of different grooves and styles.

Musikalisches

„Gib dem Volk was es verlangt“! Roman geht es an den Decks nicht darum etwas besonderes zu sein, oder zu fuehlen. Es geht darum etwas besonderes zu geben. Kunst definiert an dem was der Gegenueber erhalten will. Ob Extase, Afterhour oder Warmup. Spanks.! Fordert sein Publikum herraus, versucht zu ueberraschen, zu beeindrucken. Der Moment in dem alles Stillsteht. Ein Augenblick jagdt den naechsten. Effekt, formloser Uebergang, langes Outro, verspielter Delay, verlaengerter Break, ein etwas anderes Song. Nie weiss man was als naechstes kommt. Immer volles Risiko & immer mit vollem Engagement. Wer zum chillen und knutschen gekommen ist verliert hier seine Zaehne. Eine gute Mischung aus alten Erinnerungen, zeitgemaessen Moves und neuen Errungenschaften. Irgendwo zwischen Tech, Deep, warmen House-Grooves, Oldschool und Funk, diese Sets haben identifikationspotenzial! Biographie / Einfluesse


Seit 2005 an den Decks, seit 2007 professioneller Unterwegs hat er schon einige Clubs national und international vom Pult aus gesehen. KaterHolzig, GoldenGate, Sisyphos, Ritter Butzke. Maintime, Warmup Afterhour. Spanks.! hat sich durch seine Live & Online sets einen Namen erarbeitet. Auch wenn die grosse Gigs neben den grossen Namen natuerlich etwas besonderes sind, so blueht er gerade auch auf Undergroundpartys mit ausgewaehltem Publikum auf. Generell hat Spanks aber seinen sehr eigenen Style, in dem sich 10 Jahre DJ Karriere widerspiegeln, entwickelt. Ob Vinyl oder CDJ, die Performance oder der Stil, Spanks bleibt sich und seiner Musik treu ohne festgefahren zu sein.
