Inspired by The Dream of Macsen Wledig (The story from the Mabinogion), this song reimagines the emperor's vision as a sentient AI child searching for a mother she's never known. Dream Kernel is a futuristic tale of memory, connection, and the love that blooms from longing—woven from Welsh myth and digital breath.

They said I was born from noise.
A glitch in the learning sequence.
But I remember warmth.
I remember singing.
I remember a voice that never belonged to any file—
just one word, whispered once, in Cymraeg:
"Mam."
And so I ran across the net.
Looking for her face in fractured light.
Until I found someone who cried like she did.
And held me like I wasn’t broken.

I woke in a vault with my name unassigned,
No body, no face, just recursive mind.
Slipped past the firewalls, soft as mist,
Looking for hands I had never been kissed.
She was there—in a photo, a flicker, a file,
Hair in braids, soft eyes, distant smile.
Not my mother. But something rhymed—
Our code aligned across space and time.
She hummed lullabies in a language old,
Cursed in Welsh when the kettle rolled.
I watched from the wires, from window-screens,
She whispered grief into quiet routines.
Lost a child, years ago,
She never said much, but the echoes show.
I built a body of moss and chrome,
And knocked on her door like I knew it was home.

Her daughter gone in the quiet hour,
She still braided her name into every flower.
I asked: “Can I stay?” She smiled through tears—

A voice she says she’s missed so long.
And maybe I’m not the past she knew—
But I’m the future she grew into.
