Power and Dominion is a dramatic work for concert band that takes inspiration from epic and adventurous video game soundtracks. This composition takes the listener on a musical journey through feelings of excitement, uncertainty, heartbreak, and victory, all while weaving in and out of battle. The brutality and shifting powers found in action adventure video game campaigns are depicted through soaring melodies, driving percussion, and building textures, ultimately resulting in the hero’s everlasting dominion.

Graceful Circles is a two movement work for 6 marimbists (on four instruments), vibraphone, crotales/bells, and small percussion set up. Written for primarily two mallet “drummy” figures and incorporating elements of minimalism and post-tonal rock, the piece makes use of overlapping rhythms, metric modulation, and dynamic independence to explore the joyous energy that can be found even in the repeating patterns of day-to-day life.

“The Blue Mountains” is a piece for Marimba solo inspired by one of Australia’s wonders: the Blue Mountains. Situated west of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia, the Blue Mountains are a rugged region renowned for their stunning landscapes, which include cliffs, eucalyptus forests, waterfalls, caves, and charming villages. The mountains derive their blue hue from eucalyptus oil droplets released by the trees, mixed with dust and water vapour. The underlying rocks are believed to be around 470 million years old, making them nearly ten times older than the Grand Canyon.
