Vand's latest release on the esteemed Amsterdam-based Konstrukt record label is a true gem in their ever-expanding catalog. Sounds and scenes progress, mature, evolve, all synonyms for the same energy. The energy that surrounds the creation and impetus of a burgeoning idea or a bleeding edge of art.  

Change. 

The constant clashing of influences from everywhere and nowhere. Especially now more than ever, as everyone is battered with a barrage of ideas and trends that appear as quickly as they disappear. It’s hard to pick apart the impactful bits but to Vardae we look as a harbinger of quality changes. Today’s pick lands on his seemingly effortless foray into half-time as we land on Captivate from the forth-coming, “Dance with the spirits” EP. It’s a raucous affair, and contains all the bits you’d want from a track that will split tempo, and get dancers to sway like seaweed. From syncopated, off-kilter percussion, to long developing breakdowns, the detailed textures and minute changes get even the most jaded listener going. This EP, coupled with his Mostra set, wow. One to watch out for.

"Captivate", and the rest of the ‘Dance with the Spirits’ EP will be released on Konstrukt, April 19th.

Jin Synth - Aspect of Infinity EP [KON023]

Dutch imprint Konstrukt continues their string of stellar releases through the various shades and moods of techno with a club-centric offering by German producer Hüseyin Evirgen aka Magnia Pia. Started in 2016, the side project of the Cassegrain former half has seen releases on storied labels such as Ed Davenport’s Counterchange recordings, Soma Quality Records, and his own Arcing Seas label. Axis Mundi rounds out his third strong release of the year.

The mysteriously named Muztagh evokes notions of otherworldly scenes, shrouded in mists. Perhaps a spiritual element twisting through the ether. Rhythmic drums and sweeping pads lending to the feelings of wariness and apprehension as the track ebbs and flows through the duration.

Magna Pia’s Axis Mundi EP will be released on the 15th of November, including a unique, limited run of 180gr records for the vinyl heads out there.
