Nathan Boler - New Planet (Library Only) - Soundiron Traveler's Serenade 30s

This track was made for a Secret Santa event I was a part of a few years ago. Everyone had to draw art of each others' characters (and I DID draw something...poorly), but I went a step further and composed this theme for my assigned recipient based purely on their OC's looks alone.

The idea was to have a prancing sort of feeling throughout this song. Peaceful and pleasant with a piano that was toned to have a softer sound & color, legato strings, and a lovely woodwind section (I keep saying it, but I really need to use woodwinds more often). I'm glad it was well-received!

In The Orchard

Another track from Half A World Away in 2019 remade in 2023, remastered in 2024 for SoundCloud. 

It’s probably from the early 90s with the Orb (and that Justin Robertson mix tape mentioned elsewhere here. Plus the on u sound remixes of PWEI) … but dub & reggae always makes a return to my music. (Along with trumpets it seems).  I did go to Jamaica to explore the sounds c2001, so I did do my homework - getting into king tubby and Lee Scratch Perry. 

Well this one brings in some Jamaican vocals and some off beat chords, but certainly isn’t really reggae or dub.  Shout out to Audio Damage, who's dub station and pan station plugins are my go-tos.  UVI's relay for Delay as well.

The title refers to my consistent M.O. of being incapable of getting going until it’s the last minute.  Painful for me. Probably more painful for everyone else relying on me. But over the years, I’ve learnt to work with it rather than get stressed by it.  Get it in!
