After a few month dedicated to othe projects (mainly my Drum and Bass alterego RNCBL) and various gigs as drummer i'm returning to my beloved synth channel :D
In this jam i made simple Ambient beat creating the sounds on Volca Drum then using the Probability mode on sequencer. This Volca Drum feature permits you to set a probability value for each step of each track. In this way all the notes can be played or not during the 1 bar beat and the result is a longer and moving sequence that change everytime. As a rhythm support i used the Volca Beats and it's warm and simple sounds, the result remind me some kind of synthetizer Tibetan Bowls :D

DARK AMBIENT JAM With KORG VOLCA DRUM And VOLCA BEATS

Recently moving on more experimental territories i decided to make a try with Korg Volca Keys Poly Ring oscillator. I made a pluck bass sound using various clusters and chord combinations in order to excite the ring modulation and used the pitch envelope to create a percussive type sound. The Volca Beats add a warm and fat minimal rhythm and the Modal Craft Synth 2.0 glue everything with a long and moving pad. I recently recording in multi track with Ableton Live so i added some reverb and a little of side-chain compression. Enjoy!

Dark Ambient jam with Korg Volca Beats processed with several pedal FX: I used only the analog voices (kick, toms and snare), distorted a little with a vintage Boss Hyper Metal, compressed and filtered with a custom FX chain on the Zoom G1on then "virtualized" with an old Viscount GammaVerb (on the send of the small mixer). I added a footage of a recent exploration of the scary attic of a 1850  Italian residential palace. Enjoy!

Some experiments with a no-input mixer and the Korg Volca Beats.
The analog drum machine signal goes into the first channel of the mixer. The Aux Send is plugged into the second channel, creating a feedback loop. I routed the Volca’s signal to the Aux Send so it could interact with the feedback and produce weird, distorted textures.
At the end of the chain, a Zoom G1on adds some stereo chorus and plate reverb to enrich the sound.
I also included footage from a recent exploration of the eerie attic of an Italian school built in 1850. Enjoy!
